2 Qatari stadiums are nominated for the Stadium of the Year Awards

Doha: Two Qatar World Cup stadiums, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium and The Education City Stadium, were nominated for the 2020 Best Stadium award.

Voting for the prize will be on The Studio DB website, which runs until March 7th, with the two stadiums competing with 18 other stadiums to win last year’s Best Award.

The Education City Stadium was inaugurated in June 2020 with a capacity of 40,000 fans, and the distance from the stadium to downtown Doha is 12 km (7 miles).

Located at the heart of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, the Stadium is a heart of innovation and knowledge, it embodies sustainability at its best and will host World Cup matches from the group stage to the quarter-finals.

Prior to the announcement of its readiness at a digital ceremony in June 2020, the stadium was certified by the Five-Star Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), making it the first World Cup stadium to receive this rating. 

Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium was inaugurated last December with a capacity of 40,000 fans and the distance from the stadium to downtown Doha: 22 km (14 miles).

The stadium’s exterior is decorated with shapes and symbols that reflect different aspects of life in Qatar, such as family bonding, the beauty of desert life, its wildlife, and symbols that embody local and international trade. All these forms combine a shield that symbolizes the meanings of strength, unity and cohesion that the people of Al Rayyan and Qatar have long known.

الدوحة: ترشح اثنان من استادات ‎مونديال قطر2022، هما استاد أحمد بن علي واستاد المدينة التعليمية، لجائزة أفضل استاد في العام 2020.

وسيكون التصويت للفوز بالجائزة عبر التصويت على موقع ‎»ستوديو دي بي» والذي يستمر حتى 7 مارس المقبل، حيث يتنافس الملعبان مع 18 استادًا أخرى للفوز بجائزة الأفضل في العام الماضي.

وتم تدشين استاد المدينة التعليمية في شهر يونيو 2020 وتصل الطاقة الاستيعابية إلى 40 ألف مشجع، وتبلغ المسافة من الاستاد حتى وسط مدينة الدوحة 12 كم (7 أميال).

يقع استاد المدينة التعليمية في قلب مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، القلب النابض بالابتكار والمعرفة، ويُجسد الاستاد الاستدامةَ في أبهى صورها، وسيستضيف مباريات المونديال من مرحلة المجموعات حتى الدور ربع النهائي.

حصل الاستاد، قبل الإعلان عن جاهزيته في حفل رقمي في يونيو 2020، على شهادة المنظومة العالمية لتقييم الاستدامة «جي ساس» من فئة الخمس نجوم، ليصبح بذلك أول استادات المونديال في الحصول على هذا التصنيف.

وتم تدشين استاد أحمد بن علي في شهر ديسمبر الماضي وتبلغ الطاقة الاستيعابية 40 ألف مشجع وتبلغ المسافة من الاستاد حتى وسط مدينة الدوحة: 22 كم (14 ميلًا). وتتزين واجهة الاستاد الخارجية بأشكال ورموز تعكس جوانب مختلفة من طبيعة الحياة في دولة قطر كالترابط الأسري، وجمال الحياة الصحراوية، وما تزخر به من حياة برية، إلى جانب رموز تُجسد التجارة المحلية والدولية. ويجمع هذه الأشكال كلها درع يرمز إلى معاني القوة والوحدة والتماسك التي طالما عُرف بها أهل مدينة الريان وقطر.
