Package 9 of Roads and Infrastructure Project in South Al Meshaf begins

Doha: The Public Works Authority “Ashghal” announced the commencement of works on the Roads and Infrastructure Project in South Al Meshaf (Package 9) which is part of Ashghals plan to implement infrastructure projects for citizens subdivisions in the southern regions of the country. This announcement comes after having had recently announced the start of the implementation of the eighth package of the project in January, and the seventh package, last August.
Upon completion, the project will develop a 23km-long network of internal streets in the area, equipped with road safety features and street lighting as well as road signs and marks, to regulate the traffic flow and enhance safety on the roads. This is in addition to upgrading infrastructure facilities to respond to residents needs and urban growth in the future. The project will include a 9.5-km-pedestrian and cycle track.
The project is located South of Doha and South West Al Wakra while being bordered by Rekayya Street to the South, Al Wukair Road to the North and by The Southern Part of Doha Express Highway to the East.
The upgrading works, will be implemented into three geographical zones which will be carried out successively, where the duration of each phase will be one year. Full completion of the project is scheduled for Q4, 2023.
Project Engineer at the Southern Area Section of the Roads Projects Department in “Ashghal” Eng. Hamad Al Maejeba, stated that the project serves 682 citizens subdivisions in South Al Meshaf Area providing upgraded infrastructure services including a 23.5-km-long foul sewer network, 56 km of surface and groundwater drainage network, 9.5 km of Treated Sewerage Effluent (TSE) network and a 9-km-long potable water network. In addition, new sewage pipelines will be provided and connected with Qatars main sewage network.
Construction works will also include an emergency flood area with a total capacity of 40,000 m3 to provide proper protection for the entire area against flooding and excess rainfall.
It is to be mentioned that the Project is being implemented by the joint venture of Development Company for Road Works and Qatar Building Engineering Company, at a cost of approximately QAR 544,540 million and is part of the New Subdivisions Program which is carried out by the Public Works Authority and includes a number of development projects across Qatar.

الدوحة: أعلنت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن بدء تنفيذ أعمال مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في منطقة جنوب المشاف (الحزمة التاسعة)، والذي يندرج ضمن خطة الهيئة لتنفيذ مشاريع البنية التحتية لأراضي المواطنين في المناطق الجنوبية للدولة.
وكانت “أشغال” قد أعلنت في يناير الماضي عن بدء تنفيذ أعمال الحزمة الثامنة من المشروع، وأعمال الحزمة السابعة في أغسطس الماضي.
وسيتم من خلال هذه الحزمة (التاسعة) من المشروع تطوير وإنشاء شبكة طرق بطول 23 كيلومترا، مع توفير عناصر السلامة المرورية من أنظمة وأعمدة إنارة للشوارع، ولوحات إرشادية وعلامات الطريق وذلك بهدف تطوير الشوارع الداخلية بالمنطقة وتنظيم الحركة المرورية بها ورفع السلامة، بالإضافة إلى تطوير مرافق البنية التحتية لتستجيب لمتطلبات السكان والنمو العمراني في المستقبل.
كما سيتم ضمن أعمال المشروع توفير مسارات للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية بطول يتجاوز 9 كيلومترات ونصف.
ويقع المشروع جنوب مدينة الدوحة، وتحديداً في جنوب غرب مدينة الوكرة، ويحده جنوباً /شارع ركية/ وشمالاً طريق الوكير وشرقاً الجزء الجنوبي من طريق الدوحة السريع.
وقد تم تقسيم أعمال المشروع إلى ثلاث مناطق جغرافية يتم العمل فيها على التوالي، ويستغرق تنفيذ كل مرحلة عاماً واحداً، حيث أنه من المخطط أن يتم الانتهاء من تنفيذ كافة أعمال المشروع في الربع الرابع من عام 2023.
وبهذه المناسبة أكد المهندس حمد المعجبة، مهندس المشروع بقسم مشاريع المناطق الجنوبية بإدارة مشروعات الطرق في /أشغال/، أن المشروع سيخدم عند اكتماله 682 قسيمة لأراضي المواطنين في منطقة جنوب /المشاف/، حيث يعمل المشروع على توفير خدمات متطورة للبنية التحتية تضم إنشاء شبكة صرف صحي بطول 23.5 كيلومتر، وشبكة صرف للمياه السطحية والجوفية بطول 56 كيلومترا، وشبكة للمياه المعالجة بطول 9.5 كيلومتر، وشبكة مياه شرب بطول 9 كيلومترات، إلى جانب تمديد أنابيب الصرف الجديدة وربطها بشبكة الصرف الصحي الرئيسية، فضلاً عن إنشاء بحيرة لتخزين مياه الأمطار لأغراض الطوارئ بسعة 40 ألف متر مكعب بهدف وقاية كامل المنطقة من فيضان المياه خلال موسم الأمطار.
يذكر أن هذا المشروع يتم تنفيذه من قبل ائتلاف شركتي /التنمية/ لأعمال الطرق و/هندسة/ البناء القطرية بتكلفة تبلغ حوالي 544 مليونا و540 ألف ريال قطري، ويعد أحد مشاريع برنامج تطوير البنية التحتية للمناطق الذي تنفذه هيئة الأشغال العامة، ويضم عدداً من المشاريع التطويرية الموزعة على كافة مناطق البلاد.
