Lebanese President Expresses Lebanon’s Appreciation for Qatari Support

Beirut: HE President of the Republic of Lebanon General Michel Aoun expressed his country’s appreciation for the support provided by the State of Qatar, under the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, to Lebanon and the Lebanese, especially during the difficult circumstances which Lebanon went through after the Beirut Port explosion through urgent social, humanitarian and health aid that arrived and was placed at the disposal of the affected Lebanese. He also considered that this aid is an affirmation of the distinguished relations between both countries.
In a statement during his meeting with HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, HE President Aoun asserted that the Qatari solidarity with Lebanon was translated on several occasions, whether through financial and in-kind donations, through the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the Paris Conference to support Lebanon which was organized by the French President Emmanuel Macron, or through the air bridge which was established between Beirut and Doha to send medical and food aid in addition to field hospitals.
President Aoun, according to a Lebanese presidency’s statement, expressed his appreciation for the facilities provided by Qatar to Lebanese citizens residing in Qatar, and the job opportunities it provides to many Lebanese, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions which Lebanese is passing through.

بيروت: أعرب فخامة الرئيس العماد ميشال عون رئيس الجمهورية اللبنانية عن تقدير بلاده للدعم الذي قدمته دولة قطر بتوجيه من حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، للبنان واللبنانيين لاسيما خلال الظروف الصعبة التي مر بها بعد انفجار مرفأ بيروت من خلال المساعدات العاجلة الاجتماعية والإنسانية والصحية التي وصلت ووضعت بتصرف اللبنانيين المتضررين، معتبرا أن هذه المساعدات تأكيد للعلاقات المميزة التي تربط بين البلدين الشقيقين.
وقال فخامة الرئيس عون في تصريح له خلال لقائه سعادة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية، إن التضامن القطري مع لبنان ترجم في مناسبات عدة سواء من خلال التبرعات المادية والعينية، ومشاركة حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى في مؤتمر باريس لدعم لبنان الذي نظمه فخامة الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، أو من خلال الجسر الجوي الذي أقيم بين بيروت والدوحة لإرسال مساعدات طبية وغذائية ومستشفيات ميدانية.
وعبر عون خلال اللقاء وفق بيان صدر عن الرئاسة اللبنانية، عن تقديره للتسهيلات التي تقدمها دولة قطر للمواطنين اللبنانيين الموجودين فيها وفرص العمل التي توفرها للعديد من اللبنانيين خصوصا في ظل الظروف الاقتصادية الصعبة التي يمر بها لبنان.
