Medicare Group QPSC Reports Net Profits of QAR 50.3 Million

Doha: The board of directors of the Medicare Group QPSC met yesterday following the Qatar Stock Exchange session. The meeting, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, discussed the company’s financial statements for the nine-month period ending on September 30, 2023, which were approved.

His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, announced that the company’s net profits since the beginning of the year until September 30, 2023, amounted to QAR 50,389,091 compared to QAR 56,040,385 for the same period in 2022. This had an impact on the earnings per share, which amounted to QAR 0.18 per share compared to QAR 0.20 per share for the same period in 2022.

Mr. Khaled Al Emadi, the CEO of Medicare Group QPSC and Al Ahli Hospital, stated that the decrease in net profit for this period was due to several factors. One of these factors was the significant variation in the population during the period preceding the FIFA World Cup, especially during the third quarter of the previous year compared to the third quarter of the current year. Additionally, the increase in operating costs, primarily resulting from the rise in salaries for medical and nursing staff, was due to the acute global shortage in these fields. This shortage significantly impacted the third quarter of this year, whereas it had no impact during the same period last year. Typically, the third quarter of the fiscal year traditionally experiences a decrease compared to the mid-year and the last quarter at the end of the year. Mr. Al Emadi expected that this decline in the third quarter would be compensated for in the remaining part of the year by continuing to implement the five-year strategy. This involves attracting private sector doctors working in the fields of complementary and corrective surgeries, and signing many agreements with them to use the operating rooms and facilities of Al Ahli Hospital after passing the official examinations conducted by the Ministry of Public Health.

Regarding the expansion plan for Al Ahli Hospital, Mr. Jamal Hammad, Deputy CEO of Al Ahli Hospital, mentioned that the works of the patient rooms’ refurbishment and renovation project reached an accomplishment rate of 80%. As for the project of expanding the operating and delivery rooms and updating the supporting rooms, approximately 90% of the project’s work has been completed in the first phase. Thus, the management continues to execute the strategic expansion plans of Al Ahli Hospital and its facilities according to the predefined timeline set by the board of directors.

الدوحة: اجتمع مجلس إدارة المجموعة للرعاية الطبية مساء امس بعد جلسة تداول بورصة قطر برئاسة سعادة الشيخ عبدالله بن ثاني بن عبدالله آل ثاني؛ وناقش البيانات المالية للشركة لفترة التسعة أشهر المنتهية في 30 سبتمبر 2023 وصادق عليها.

وأعلن سعادة الشيخ عبدالله بن ثاني بن عبدالله آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الإدارة أن صافي أرباح الشركة منذ بداية السنة حتى 30 سبتمبر 2023 قد بلغت 50,389,091 ريالا قطريا مقارنة بـ 56,040,385 ريالا قطريا لنفس الفترة من العام الماضي 2022، وانعكس ذلك على العائد على الأسهم حيث بلغ 0.18 ريال قطري لكل سهم مقارنة بـ 0.20 ريال قطري عن نفس الفترة للعام 2022.

من جانبه صرح السيد خالد العمادي الرئيس التنفيذي للمجموعة للرعاية الطبية والمستشفى الأهلي بأن الانخفاض في صافي الربح للفترة جاء نتيجة لعدة عوامل كان أثرها متوقعا لهذه الفترة ؛ منها تباين تعداد السكان بشكل فارق للفترة التي سبقت كأس العالم خصوصاً خلال الربع الثالث من العام الماضي مقارنة مع فترة الربع الثالث من العام الحالي. ومن جانب آخر فإن الزيادة في تكاليف التشغيل والناتجة بالأخص عن زيادة مرتبات الكادر الطبي والتمريضي في ضوء النقص العالمي الحاد في هذا الأخير والذي جاء أثره على فترة الثلاثة أرباع الماضية من هذا العام بينما لم يكن له أثر خلال نفس الفترة للعام الماضي؛ وأخيرا فإن الربع الثالث من العام المالي عادة يشهد انخفاضا تقليديا مقارنة بمنتصف العام والربع الأخير بنهاية العام. وتوقع السيد العمادي أن يتم تعويض هذا الانخفاض في الربع المتبقي من العام إن شاء الله من خلال المضي قدماً في تطبيق الاسترتيجية الخمسية باستقطاب أطباء القطاع الخاص العاملين في مجال الجراحات التكميلية والتصحيحية وتوقيع العديد من الاتفاقيات معهم لاستخدام غرف العمليات ومرافق المستشفى الأهلي بعد اجتياز مقابلة اللجنة الطبية والفنية المعنية والحصول على التراخيص الرسمية من وزارة الصحة العامة.

فيما يتعلق بالخطة التوسعية للمستشفى الأهلي، ذكر السيد جمال حماد نائب الرئيس التنفيذي للمستشفى الأهلي بأن أعمال مشروع تحديث وتجديد غرف المرضى قد بلغ نسبة 80% من الإنجاز؛ وفيما يتعلق بمشروع توسعة غرف العمليات والولادة وتحديث الغرف المساندة فقد تم إنجاز ما يقرب من 90% من أعمال المشروع للمرحلة الأولى. وبذلك تكون الإدارة مستمرة بتنفيذ خطط التوسعة الاستراتيجية للمستشفى الأهلي ومرافقه وفق الجدول الزمني المقرر مسبقاً من مجلس الإدارة.
