Washington: US Doctors estimated that the world would need seven years in order for life to return to what it was before the coronavirus pandemic, pointing out that achieving this matter requires continuing the same current pattern of vaccinations.
Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci said in a statement that life will take about seven years to return to what it was before the pandemic, stressing that this passes through vaccination from 70 to 85 percent of the population.
He revealed that the US may wait until 2022 for the vaccination rate to reach 75 percent of its population, indicating that the vaccination process must be accelerated in western countries and the rest of the world.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization considered that Europe and drug manufacturing groups should work together to accelerate the vaccination process against COVID-19, expressing its concern about the effectiveness of vaccines in immunizing against mutated versions of the virus.
In the European Union, 2.5 percent of citizens have so far been vaccinated with a first dose of vaccine, amid hopes to speed up the process, with many laboratories announcing an increase in deliveries.
To date, the world has crossed the threshold of 100 million vaccines, of which 65 percent have been given in rich countries, according to World Bank standards.

وذكر الدكتور أنتوني فاوتشي كبير أطباء الأمراض المعدية في الولايات المتحدة، في تصريحات اليوم، أن الحياة تتطلب نحو سبع سنوات لتعود إلى ما كانت عليه قبل الجائحة، مؤكدا أن ذلك يمر عبر تطعيم من 70 بالمئة إلى 85 بالمئة من السكان.
وكشف أن الولايات المتحدة قد تنتظر حتى عام 2022 لبلوغ نسبة تلقيح 75 بالمئة من سكانها، مبينا أنه وجب تسريع عمليات التلقيح في الدول الغربية وباقي دول العالم.
وبشأن الجدل الدائر في أوساط المجتمع العلمي، بخصوص تعريف مناعة القطيع، ومتى يمكن تحقيقها، وهل في حال تحققها يمكن منع سرعة انتقال المرض، أكد الخبراء الأمريكيون أن هذا الأمر “يبقى أمرا غير مؤكد”.
في غضون ذلك، اعتبرت منظمة الصحة العالمية أنه على أوروبا ومجموعات تصنيع الأدوية العمل سويا لتسريع عمليات التلقيح ضد /كوفيد-19/، معبرة عن قلقها إزاء فعالية اللقاحات في التحصين ضد نسخ متحورة للفيروس.
وفي الاتحاد الأوروبي تم تلقيح حتى الآن ما نسبته 2.5 بالمئة من المواطنين بجرعة لقاح أولى، وسط الأمل بتسريع العملية مع إعلان العديد من المختبرات عن زيادة عمليات التسليم.
وتجاوز العالم إلى غاية الآن عتبة مئة مليون لقاح أعطيت 65 بالمئة منها في الدول الغنية بحسب معايير البنك الدولي.
