Qatar to honour 100 teachers on World Teacher’s Day

DOHA: Qatar represented by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education will honour 100 senior teachers on the World Teacher’s Day which will be observed on October 5 at Qatar National Convention Center. The event will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.

One hundred teachers, who have spent ten years teaching in the government schools in the State, will be honoured during the celebration in recognition of their distinguished efforts, QNA reported.

Director of Teachers Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ahmed Jumaa Al Jassimani, praised the big positive role of teachers, as well as the attention paid by the State to teachers, providing them with the support and appropriate conditions necessary for performing the job perfectly.

He noted that the official celebration of the occasion will be accompanied by ceremonies at the levels of all schools in Qatar.

He underlined that Qatar is one of the developed countries in terms of the education system and the opportunities provided for students to receive education and achievement, noting that there is a teacher for every 12 students in the country, which is one of the best rates in the world.

He added that the number of teachers in public schools currently stands at 14,037 teachers, and that the Ministry is seeking to attract the national cadres and expertise to the teaching profession through the development of a system to attract and evaluate teachers and building national capacities in the field of education.

He referred to a number of programmes that provide the Ministry with teachers, including Tamouh programme and Teach for Qatar initiative, in addition to the graduates of Qatar University and those recruited from abroad whose number reached nearly 525 this year.

He also noted the cooperation with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs to attract Qatari cadres in disciplines that are close to education to train them to join the profession.

He said that the patronage of Prime Minister and Interior Minister for this celebration annually reflects the State’s great interest in the education system and the teaching profession.

The world has been marking the World Teacher’s Day since October 5, 1994, in recognition of the teachers’ important role in educating the generations of the future.

عقدت وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي صباح أمس بمبنى الوزارة، مؤتمراً صحافياً للإعلان عن تفاصيل الاحتفال باليوم العالمي للمعلمين.

تحدث خلال المؤتمر كل من السيد أحمد جمعة جسيماني مدير إدارة شؤون المعلمين، والسيد حسن عبدالله المحمدي مدير إدارة العلاقات العامة والاتصال، والسيد يوسف العبدالله رئيس اللجنة الاستشارية لمديري المدارس، والسيد ناصر النعيمي رئيس اللجنة الاستشارية للمعلمين.

وقال السيد حسن المحمدي: «إن يوم المعلم سوف يقام يوم الخميس المقبل، برعاية معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، موجهاً الشكر والتقدير لمعاليه على دعمه المتواصل لهذا الحفل، الذي سوف يشهد تكريم 100 من قدامى المعلمين والمعلمات في الدولة، تم اختيارهم حسب المعايير الموضوعة». من جهته، وجّه السيد أحمد جسيماني التهنئة لجميع المعلمين والمعلمات في هذا اليوم، الذي يؤدي دوراً مهماً وإيجابياً في أداء المعلمين الذين يؤدون رسالة سامية، وهم ركيزة أساسية في التنمية، ونوه بأن الاحتفال يقام في جميع مدارس قطر، حيث يكرم خلاله المعلمون المميزون.

وقال إن عدد المعلمين في دولة قطر بلغ 14037 معلماً ومعلمة بالمدارس الحكومية، وإن قطر تعتبر من أفضل الدول عالمياً من حيث نسبة المعلم إلى الطالب، وتبلغ النسبة 12 طالباً لكل معلم، ولدينا 56 جنسية تعمل في مهنة التدريس.

وأضاف: أن هناك العديد من الروافد للمعلمين في المدارس الحكومية، منها برنامج «طموح» الذي ساهم بـ 64 معلماً للعام الدراسي الحالي، وخريجو جامعة قطر 100 معلم تقريباً، ومبادرة «علّم لأجل قطر» 50 معلماً للعام، كما بلغ عدد المعلمين المعينين من خلال المقابلات الخارجية 525 معلماً تقريباً، لافتاً إلى وجود تعاون مع وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية في استقطاب الجامعيين غير التربويين والعائدين من البند المركزي بعد إخضاعهم لبرامج تأهيلية وتدريبية.

كما أوضح جسيماني أن الوزارة حرصت على إنشاء مركز التدريب والتطوير التربوي، الذي يقدم دراسات عالية المستوى، وبرامج تأهيل للوظائف القيادية في المدارس، والتمكين التربوي للمعلمين الجدد، كما أشار إلى أن الوزارة منحت 422 معلماً الرخصة المهنية خلال العام الدراسي 2017-2018م. ووجّه السيد يوسف العبدالله رئيس اللجنة الاستشارية لمديري المدارس، الشكر والتقدير للمعلمين، ونوه باهتمام دولتنا وقيادتنا الحكيمة بالتعليم، ولا أدل على ذلك من زيارات معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية المستمرة للمدارس، بما تمثله هذه الزيارات من دعم وتحفيز للمعلمين والتربويين، وأكد أن المعلمين يستحقون الشكر والثناء على جهودهم، منوهاً بحرص الحكومة والقيادة الرشيدة على المعلمين ودعمهم.;
