MME urges adherence to law prohibiting workers’ camps in family residential areas

QNA – Doha:
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) called yesterday on owners and tenants of real estate, citizens and residents, to adhere to the provisions of the Law prohibiting workers housing camps within family residential areas, and the ministerial decision defining family residential areas and to clear all violating workers’ housing in order to avoid legal accountability.
The Ministry stated that in case of any inquiries or comments, people can contact the unified call center on 184 or via its website or Aoun application.
In a related context, and based on Ministerial Decision No. (105) of 2020 defining family residential areas and what is considered workers camps within those areas, in addition to determining those excluded from this decision.
Al Khor and Al Dhakhira Municipality represented by the Technical Control Section of the Municipal Control Department implemented intensive inspection campaigns on workers’ gatherings in families’ residential areas in the city of Al Khor.
These campaigns resulted in the issuance of 72 violation tickets and 72 warnings in accordance with the provisions of law No. (15) of 2010 on the prohibition of workers camps within family residential areas amended by Law No 22 of 2019.
The Ministry said these inspection campaigns will continue on a daily basis to restrict and evacuate the workers’ housing gatherings within the geographical range of Al Khor and Al Dhakhira Municipality, noting that 20 houses were vacated by the tenants and owners after the issuance of the recent ministerial decision defining the areas of families housing in the municipalities.

دعت وزارة البلدية والبيئة ملاّك ومستأجري العقارات من المواطنين والمقيمين، إلى ضرورة الالتزام بأحكام قانون حظر تجمعات سكن العمال داخل مناطق سكن العائلات، وبالقرار الوزاري بتحديد مناطق سكن العائلات، وإخلاء جميع مساكن العمال المخالفة، وذلك تجنباً للمساءلة القانونية.
وأوضحت الوزارة أنه في حالة أي استفسار أو ملاحظات يمكن التواصل مع مركز الاتصال الموحد على رقم 184 أو عبر موقعها الإلكتروني أو تطبيق «عون».
وفي سياق متصل وبناءً على القرار الوزاري رقم (105) لسنة 2020 بتحديد مناطق سكن العائلات وما يعد تجمعاً للعمال داخل تلك المناطق والاستثناءات الواردة عليها، نفَّذت بلدية الخور والذخيرة ممثلة بقسم الرقابة الفنية التابع لإدارة الرقابة البلدية، حملات تفتيشية مكثفة على تجمعات العمال في مناطق سكن العائلات بمدينة الخور.
وأسفرت هذه الحملات عن تحرير (72) محضر ضبط و(72) إنذاراً وفقاً لأحكام القانون رقم (15) لسنة 2010 بشأن حظر سكن العمال داخل مناطق سكن العائلات، المعدل بالقانون رقم (22) لسنة 2019.
وذكرت الوزارة أن هذه الحملات التفتيشية ستستمر بصفة يومية لحصر وإخلاء تجمعات سكن العمال داخل النطاق الجغرافي لبلدية الخور والذخيرة، مشيرة إلى أنه تم إخلاء (20) منزلاً من قِبل المستأجرين والملاّك عقب صدور القرار الوزاري الأخير بتحديد مناطق سكن العائلات بالبلديات.
