Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin and the new US President, Joe Biden, held their first telephone conversation today, during which they discussed a number of pressing issues between the two countries.
The Kremlin stated, in a statement, that the conversation dealt with “the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the Open Skies Agreement, the issue of preserving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program, the settlement in Ukraine, as well as the Russian initiative on holding a summit of permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.”
The statement considered that “the normalization of relations between Russia and the United States will serve the interests of both countries and the international community as a whole, given their own responsibility to support security and stability in the world.”.

واعتبر البيان أن “تطبيع العلاقات بين روسيا والولايات المتحدة سيخدم مصالح كلا البلدين والمجتمع الدولي برمته، علما بمسؤوليتهما الخاصة عن دعم الأمن والاستقرار في العالم”، مشددا على أن “المكالمة بين الرئيسين تميزت بشكل عام بطابع عملي وصريح، وتم الاتفاق على الاستمرار في الاتصالات الثنائية.
