Swiatek Clinches Third Consecutive Qatar Open Title

Iga Swiatek clinched her third consecutive Qatar Open title by defeating Elena Rybakina in straight sets. Despite trailing early in the match, Swiatek rallied to win 7-6 (10-8) 6-2 in Doha. This victory marks her 18th WTA title and the first of the year. Swiatek’s achievement makes her the first player since Serena Williams to win a WTA singles title three years in a row.
In the match, Swiatek found herself down 4-1 in the first set but managed to stage a comeback, eventually winning the tie-breaker after a 90-minute battle. Rybakina faced a setback with a medical timeout after injuring her leg while serving in the first set, contributing to her defeat.
Both Swiatek and Rybakina are set to participate in the upcoming Dubai Tennis Championship starting Friday.
In other tennis news, on his 25th birthday, Australia’s Alex de Minaur advanced to the Rotterdam Open final by defeating Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 6-3. He will face Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner, who defeated Tallon Griekspoor 6-2 6-4.
Meanwhile, Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz suffered a semifinal defeat in the Argentina Open, losing 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 to Nicolas Jarry. Alcaraz was the defending champion at the clay-court event.
At the Delray Beach Open in Florida, Julian Cash and Robert Galloway will face Neal Skupski and Santiago Gonzalez in the men’s doubles final. Cash and Galloway defeated Hugo Nys and Jan Zielinski 6-4 7-5, while Skupski and Gonzalez secured their spot with a 7-6 (11-9) 7-6 (7-5) win over Diego Hidalgo and Cristian Rodriguez in the semifinals.

حققت إيغا شفيونتيك لقب بطولة قطر المفتوحة للتنس للمرة الثالثة توالياً بفوزها على يلينا ريباكينا في مباراة نهائية مثيرة. وبالرغم من التأخر في بداية المباراة، تمكنت شفيونتيك من العودة وتحقيق الفوز بنتيجة 7-6 و6-2 في الدوحة.
وبهذا الفوز، أصبحت شفيونتيك أول لاعبة تفوز باللقب ثلاث مرات على التوالي منذ تتويج سيرينا ويليامز ببطولة ميامي المفتوحة في الفترة ما بين 2013 و2015.
وتأتي هذه النتيجة بعد سلسلة من الانتصارات لشفيونتيك في قطر، حيث حققت انتصاراتها الـ12 الأخيرة في البطولة.
وبعد مباراة ماراثونية دامت 90 دقيقة، نجحت شفيونتيك في قلب تأخرها وحسمت الشوط الفاصل لصالحها بعد أن كانت متأخرة بنتيجة 4-1 في المجموعة الأولى.
ومن المتوقع أن تشارك كل من شفيونتيك وريباكينا في بطولة دبي للتنس، التي تبدأ يوم الجمعة.
في سياق متصل، احتفل الأسترالي ألكس دي مينور بعيد ميلاده الـ25 بالتأهل إلى نهائي بطولة روتردام المفتوحة بفوزه على جريغور ديميتروف. وسيواجه دي مينور بطل فردي الرجال في بطولة أستراليا المفتوحة يانيك سينر في النهائي.
