Doha: Al-Gharafa is the champion of Qatar Handball Association Cup for the 2020-2021 season after it wins over Al-Rayyan 29-28 in the match held yesterday at Al-Duhail Sports Hall on the conclusion of the first group’s competitions in the second round of the tournament.
Al-Gharafa raised its score to 15 points to guarantee the first place, while Al-Rayyan came in the second place with 13 points.
Hamad Al Nuaimi, member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Handball Association crowned Al-Gharafa as the champion of the tournament.
Al-Ahli came in the third place by beating Al-Duhail 35-33, raising its score to 11 points against 7 points for Al-Duhail which came in the fourth place.
Meanwhile, Al-Shamal won over Al-Khor 26-27 to come in the fifth place.
The tournament was held without the international players who are taking part with Qatar National Handball Team in the 27th IHF Men’s World Championship, currently taking place in Egypt.

الدوحة: أحرز الغرافة لقب بطولة كأس الاتحاد للرجال لكرة اليد للموسم الرياضي 2020 / 2021 بعد فوزه على الريان بنتيجة 29 / 28 في المباراة التي أقيمت بينهما الأمس، بصالة دحيل الرياضية في ختام منافسات المجموعة الأولى في المرحلة الثانية للبطولة.
ورفع الغرافة رصيده إلى 15 نقطة حسم بها المركز الأول لصالحه، فيما حل الريان في المركز الثاني برصيد 13 نقطة.
وقام السيد حمد النعيمي عضو مجلس إدارة الاتحاد القطري لكرة اليد بتتويج الغرافة بكأس البطولة.
وحصل الأهلي على المركز الثالث بعد فوزه على الدحيل بنتيجة 35 / 33 رافعا رصيده إلى 11 نقطة، مقابل سبع نقاط للدحيل الذي احتل المركز الرابع.
يشار إلى أن البطولة أقيمت بدون اللاعبين الدوليين المتواجدين مع المنتخب القطري الأول المشارك في منافسات بطولة العالم السابعة والعشرين للرجال، المقامة حاليا في مصر وتستمر لغاية 31 يناير الجاري.
