Netherlands enters first curfew since World War II

Amsterdam: The Netherlands today entered the first curfew in the country since World War II as part of its response to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
The Dutch government announced in a statement that citizens are prohibited from leaving their homes from 9 a.m. local time until 4:30 a.m. until February 9, stressing that any violator of these measures will expose himself to fines, excluding those who will invoke special mobility permits.
The measures come three days after Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced his intention to declare a curfew in the country, and before he was approved by parliament on Thursday, referring to the “British version of the coronavirus, and the great concern felt by the entire population of the country.”
He considered that the curfew would avoid a mandatory closure on a daily basis, although since the beginning of the health crisis the Dutch had not had to justify their movements.
Mark Rutte and members of his cabinet resigned last week following a scandal involving aid to families, but they are still acting until the March 17th legislative elections.

أمستردام: دخلت هولندا، يوم الأمس، أول حظر تجول في البلاد منذ الحرب العالمية الثانية في إطار تصديها لجائحة فيروس كورونا /كوفيد-19/.
وأعلنت الحكومة الهولندية، في بيان، أنه يحظر على المواطنين مغادرة منازلهم من الساعة التاسعة بالتوقيت المحلي حتى الرابعة والنصف صباحا، وذلك إلى غاية التاسع من شهر فبراير المقبل، مشددة على أن أي مخالف لهذه التدابير سيعرض نفسه لغرامات مالية، مستثنية أولئك الذين سيستظهرون بتصاريح تنقل خاصة.
وتأتي هذه التدابير بعد ثلاثة أيام من اعلان السيد مارك روته رئيس الوزراء نيته إعلان حظر تجول في البلاد، وقبل أن ينال موافقة البرلمان أول أمس /الخميس/، مرجعا هذا الأمر إلى “النسخة البريطانية المتحورة من فيروس كورونا، والقلق الكبير الذي يشعر به جميع سكان البلاد”.
واعتبر أن حظر التجول من شأنه تجنب إغلاق الزامي يومي، علما أن الهولنديين لم يضطروا منذ بدء الأزمة الصحية إلى تبرير تنقلاتهم.
يشار إلى أن السيد مارك روته وأعضاء حكومته كانوا قد استقالوا الأسبوع الماضي إثر فضيحة تتصل بالمساعدات المقدمة إلى العائلات، لكنهم لا يزالوا يواصلون تصريف الأعمال حتى الانتخابات التشريعية المقررة في 17 مارس المقبل.
