Qatar SC post an easy win

Hosts Al Gharafa strolled to a comfortable 3-0 win over Al Arabi in QNB Stars League yesterday, while Qatar SC too had little trouble in recording a 2-0 victory against Al Kharaitiyat. Al Arabi came into the game five points clear of Gharafa in the table, but were comprehensively beaten yesterday, thanks to a wonderful first-half display by The Cheetahs.

Gharafa ended their three-match losing streak. Gharafa’s goals were scored by Abdelaziz Hatem in the 13th minute, and Ahmed Alaaeldin in the 40th and 45th minutes. The victory took Gharafa’s tally to 10 points even though they are still seventh, two behind sixth-placed Arabi.

Hatem opened the scoring early on with a free-kick taken wide on the right. He feigned a cross, but instead curled his free-kick over the wall and into the near post with the goalkeeper caught off guard.

In the latter stages of the half, the home side was able to double their lead after a defensive mix-up led to Mehdi Taremi being brought down by Masoud Zarayi in goal. Alaaeldin stepped up to convert with ease.

The final goal of the night came several minutes later when Taremi fed Alaaeldin who dummied his way past two defenders before striking from the edge of the area.

Al Arabi were able to put pressure on Al Gharafa in the second half, but were wasteful with the opportunities they had and ultimately never able to get themselves back into the game.

In the day’s second match, Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o set the tone for Qatar SC’s win with a sixth minute strike. Osama Omari then made it 2-0 at the stroke of half time, which was enough for the hosts to seal three points.

A lively encounter started in blistering fashion as Qatar SC were able to score an early goal and settle the nerves. Experienced Eto’o found his range from 25 yards with a precisely-struck shot that found its way into the top right-hand corner. They were able to increase their lead on the stroke of half-time as Eto’o became provider to Syrian striker Omari who struck home in almost identical fashion.

Omari’s shot from distance was unstoppable and secured a healthy half-time lead for The Kings, who took the field under new coach Sergio Batista from Argentina. Into the second half, Al Kharaitiyat quickly pressed for a comeback, but were thwarted on multiple occasions by the superb goalkeeping of Jassim Al Hail. He twice denied the away side with finger-tip saves and played a huge part in his side’s much-needed victory.

صعد فريق قطر عقب الفوز -بصفة مؤقتة- إلى المركز الثامن، ورفع رصيده إلى 7 نقاط، في حين تجمد رصيد الخريطيات عند 3 نقاط، وصار مهدداً بالعودة إلى المركز الأخير.

وسجل هدفي قطر صامويل إيتو في الدقيقة 5، وأسامة أومري في الدقيقة الأولى من الوقت بدل الضائع للشوط الأول، وقادا فريقهما إلى فوز ثمين انتظره طويلاً.

وافتتح صامويل إيتو، محترف فريق قطر، النتيجة لفريقه بتصويبة من خارج منطقة الجزاء في شباك مهند نعيم، مستعيناً بفنياته العالية، ودقة تصويباته.

وتبادل الفريقان السيطرة على المباراة، عقب الهدف المبكر لقطر، وصنع الخريطيات عدداً من الهجمات المتتالية بتوغلات من جهة الجناحين عبر حمرون يوغرطة وأنور ديبا، غير أنه لم يهدد مرمى منافسه بصفة جدية، بسبب التدخلات الناجحة لكل من أحمد الجابري ودودو، ثنائي الدفاع القطراوي، الذي أظهر انسجاماً واضحاً.

وتصدى جاسم الهيل حارس قطر على امتداد الشوط لعدد من التصويبات القوية، وأنقذ مرماه من هدفين محققين، فيما اقترب صامويل إيتو من مضاعفة النتيجة في الدقيقة التاسعة، لولا التدخل الناجح للحارس مهند نعيم.

وفيما لعب فريق الخريطيات بطريقة الهجمات المركزة، وحرص على التوغل في مناطق منافسه باختراقات من وسط الدفاع والجناحين، اعتمد فريق قطر على الهجمات المعاكسة، وحرص على إيصال الكرة لصامويل إيتو عبر كرات طويلة.

وأثمرت الهجمات المعاكسة لفريق قطر هدفاً ثانياً سجله أسامة أومري في الدقيقة الأولى من الوقت بدل الضائع للشوط الأول من تصويبة من خارج منطقة الجزاء، بعد تبادل للكرة مع صامويل إيتو، لينتهي الشوط بتقدم قطر بنتيجة 2-0.

وتواصلت المباراة المثيرة بين الفريقين في الشوط الثاني، واقترب يوغرطة حمرون من تذليل الفارق في الدقيقة 49 من كرة ثابتة اصطدمت بالعارضة، قبل أن يتصدى جاسم الهيل لتصويبات أخرى لأنور ديبا، وسدد عبدالرحمن محمد، واصطدمت كرته أيضاً بالعارضة.

وواصل فريق قطر بدوره تهديد مرمى منافسه عبر علي عوض الذي اصطدمت كرته بالقائم في الدقيقة 65، وصامويل إيتو الذي شكل عبئاً ثقيلاً على دفاع الخريطيات. لتنتهي المباراة بفوز فريق قطر بنتيجة 2-0.
