Egyptian media: Cairo airspace open to Qatar Airways within hours

Doha: Egyptian media reported that the Ministry of Aviation has just received a letter from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry about opening Egyptian airspace to Qatar and allowing flights between the two countries.

The Egyptian newspaper “Al-Shorouk” quoted sources described as “high-level”, saying that the implementation of the resolution begins within hours, possibly at midnight today.

The sources said that the schedule of flights will be set this week with the aim of reorganizing flights between Egypt and Qatar, after the movement stopped more than three years ago.

EgyptAir had three flights a week with Qatar.

الدوحة: ذكرت وسائل إعلام مصرية أن وزارة الطيران تلقت خطابا من وزارة الخارجية المصرية منذ قليل بشأن فتح الأجواء المصرية مع دولة قطر، والسماح بتسيير رحلات بين البلدين.

ونقلت صحيفة “الشروق” المصرية عن مصادر وصفتها بـ “رفيعة المستوى”، قولها إن تفعيل القرار يبدأ خلال ساعات، ومن المحتمل منتصف ليل اليوم.

وذكرت المصادر أنه سيتم تحديد جدول الرحلات خلال الأسبوع الجاري بهدف إعادة تنظيم الرحلات الجوية بين مصر وقطر، بعد أن توقفت الحركة منذ أكثر من 3 سنوات.

وكانت مصر للطيران تنطم 3 رحلات أسبوعيًا مع قطر.
