Qatar Chamber: Growth of Qatari- Moroccan Trade Exchange Reaches 130% in 2021

Doha: Qatar Chamber discussed with the Moroccan side in the Qatar- Morocco Business Council on Sunday ways of enhancing cooperation between Qatari and Moroccan companies, investment opportunities available in both friendly countries and the possibility of establishing alliances between companies from both sides.

First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari, during his meeting with President of the Moroccan side in the Qatar- Morocco Business Council Mohamed Baida, pointed out to the remarkable growth of trade exchange between both countries during 2021 which reached 130 percent, about QR754mn compared to QR330mn in 2017, stressing that it is still below the aspirations, expressing his hope to increase the trade exchange between the two countries via cooperation between the Qatari and Moroccan private sector.

He pointed out that Morocco is a promising market and offers a lot of opportunities that attract Qatari businessmen, explaining that there are 80 Moroccan companies operating in Qatar in partnership with Qatari companies in various fields including hospitality, trading, contracting, fashion, and business solutions.

For his part, Mohamed Baida said that there are many Moroccan companies that are willing to invest in Qatar, indicating that Qatar offers an attractive investment climate and a myriad of investment opportunities that attract the interest of Moroccan companies.

He noted that General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, to which the joint business councils are affiliated, include more than 90000 companies, and seeks to enhance Moroccan foreign commercial relations.

On his part, Vice President of the Qatari side in the Qatar- Morocco Business Council Ismail Al Ansari assured the importance of activating the Qatar-Morocco Business Council, noting that there is strong desire for Qatari businessmen to strengthen cooperation with their Moroccan counterparts and discuss forging investment partnerships in various fields.

ونوه السيد محمد بن أحمد بن طوار الكواري النائب الأول لرئيس غرفة قطر، خلال لقائه السيد محمد بيدا رئيس الجانب المغربي في مجلس الاعمال القطري المغربي المشترك، بنمو حجم التبادل التجاري بين البلدين خلال عام 2021 والذي بلغ 130 بالمئة، ليبلغ 754 مليون ريال، مقابل 330 مليون ريال في العام 2017.. مؤكدا في الوقت نفسه أنه لا يزال دون الطموحات، معبرا عن أمله في زيادة التبادل التجاري بين البلدين من خلال التعاون بين القطاع الخاص القطري والمغربي.

وأشار الى ان المغرب يعتبر سوقا كبيرا وواعدا ويضم العديد من الفرص الاستثمارية التي تجذب اهتمام رجال الاعمال القطريين.. مبينا انه يوجد اكثر من 80 شركة مغربية تعمل في السوق القطري بشراكة مع شركات قطرية في مجالات متنوعة ابرزها الضيافة والتجارة والمقاولات والازياء والتجميل وحلول الاعمال.

من جانبه، قال السيد محمد بيدا إن هناك العديد من الشركات المغربية التي ترغب في الاستثمار في قطر، لافتا الى ان دولة قطر تتميز بمناخ الاستثمار الجاذب، كما يوجد العديد من الفرص الاستثمارية في قطر والتي تستحوذ على اهتمام الشركات المغربية.

وأشار الى أن الاتحاد العام لمقاولات المغرب والذي تتبع له مجالس الاعمال المشتركة، يضم نحو 90 الف شركة ويسعى من خلال مجالس الاعمال الى تعزيز العلاقات التجارية الخارجية للمغرب.

من جهته، أكد السيد إسماعيل الانصاري، نائب رئيس الجانب القطري في /مجلس الاعمال القطري المغربي المشترك/، ضرورة تفعيل وتنشيط مجلس الاعمال القطري المغربي، لافتا الى أن هنالك رغبة كبيرة من رجال الاعمال القطريين لتعزيز التعاون مع نظرائهم المغربيين والتباحث معهم في إقامة شراكات تجارية واستثمارية في مختلف المجالات.
