First round of Qatar National Sprint Championship concluded

Doha: The first and opening round of the Qatar National Sprint Championship organized by the Federation of Motor and Motorcycles in front of the main courtyard of the Lusail International Circuit, was strong and exciting and amid a large participation of up to 36 participants, in the new version of the championship, which sees for the first time the addition of two new categories, the first dedicated to women, the second for electric cars, as well as the 6 categories (O1 O2, O3, P1, P2, P2, P3) but the opening round did not witness enough participation for the two new categories. to kick off at the start of the next round.

Abdullah Al Khelaifi won the first round of the O1 class after finishing first with the fastest lap time of 54.077 seconds, beating second-placed Mansour Shalabi in 54.836 seconds, while Abdulaziz Al Jaberi finished third in 54.996 seconds. In the O2 category, Ali Al Amadi finished first with a lap time of 54.824 seconds, 1.165 seconds ahead of second-placed Ibrahim Al Mannai in 55.989 seconds, while Nadim Ziad finished third in 56.461 seconds. In the O3 category, Abdullah Abbasi took first place with the fastest lap time of 52.817 seconds, 3.940 seconds behind his only competitor in this category, which saw only two drivers, Mohammed Al-Khayan, who finished second with a time of 56.757 seconds.

In the P1 category, Henry Qaai won the title of this round, clocking the fastest lap time of 56.502 seconds, 0.372 seconds behind second-placed Saad al-Dosari in 56.874 seconds, and Mansour Shibli in third place with 57.014 seconds.

In the P2 category, Ali Al Amadi won the tour title after finishing first with the fastest lap time of 54.005 seconds and 0.089 seconds ahead of Mohammed Al Amadi, who finished second in 54.094 seconds, and Dian Bella third in 55.784 seconds.

In the P3 category, Francesco Fornasiari finished first, clocking the fastest lap time of 53.277 seconds and 1.294 seconds ahead of second-placed Mohammed Al Mahmoud in 54.571 seconds, while Hassan Al Qatami finished third in 56.154 seconds.

Amr Al-Hamad, executive director of the Federation of Motor and Motorcycles, praised the outstanding level and participation in the first round, noting that it confirmed the great success last season despite the exceptional circumstances due to the Coronavirus, especially since the Federation of Automobiles was one of the few federations that succeeded in completing all championships in 2020.

Al-Hamad expressed his happiness with the great development in the championship, where two new categories were added for women and electric cars, pointing out that the current season will be different as it extends throughout the year except for the summer period, which provided a greater opportunity for the contestants to participate.

الدوحة: جاءت انطلاقة الجولة الأولى والافتتاحية لبطولة قطر الوطنية للسرعة في فئة السيارات (إسبرينت) التي نظمها اتحاد السيارات والدرّاجات النارية أمام الباحة الرئيسية لحلبة لوسيل الدولية، قوية ومُثيرة ووسط مُشاركة كبيرة تصل إلى 36 مشاركًا، وذلك في النسخة الجديدة للبطولة والتي تشهد للمرة الأولى إضافة فئتين جديدتين، الأولى مُخصّصة للسيدات، والثانية للسيارات الكهربائية، بالإضافة إلى الفئات ال 6 (O1 O2 ، O3 ، P1 ، P2 ، P3) إلا أن الجولة الافتتاحية لم تشهد مُشاركة كافية لإقامة سباقات الفئتين الجديدتين على أن تنطلق بداية من الجولة المقبلة.

وتوّج عبدالله الخليفي بلقب الجولة الأولى لفئة O1 بعدما احتل المركز الأول مُسجلًا الزمن الأسرع في اللفة وقدره 54.077 ثانية، متفوقًا على منصور شلبي صاحب المركز الثاني بزمن قدره 54.836 ثانية، بينما حل عبدالعزيز الجابري ثالثًا بزمن قدره 54.996 ثانية. وفي منافسات فئة «O2»، وحقق علي العمادي المركز الأول مسجّلًا الزمن الأسرع في اللفة وقدره 54.824 ثانية متفوقًا بفارق 1.165 ثانية عن إبراهيم المناعي صاحب المركز الثاني بزمن قدره 55.989 ثانية، فيما حل نديم زياد في المركز الثالث بزمن قدره 56.461 ثانية. وفي منافسات فئة «O3» أحرز عبدالله العباسي المركز الأول مُسجّلًا الزمن الأسرع في اللفة وقدره 52.817 ثانية بفارق 3.940 ثانية عن منافسه الوحيد في هذه الفئة التي لم تشهد إلا مُشاركة سائقين فقط، وهو محمد الخيارين الذي حل في المركز الثاني بزمن قدره 56.757 ثانية.

وفي منافسات فئة «P1»، أحرز هنري قاعي لقب هذه الجولة مُسجّلًا الزمن الأسرع في اللفة وقدره 56.502 ثانية بفارق 0.372 ثانية عن سعد الدوسري صاحب المركز الثاني بزمن قدره 56.874 ثانية، فيما احتل منصور شبلي المركز الثالث بزمن قدره 57.014 ثانية.

وفي فئة «P2»، نال علي العمادي لقب الجولة بعدما احتل المركز الأول مُسجلًا الزمن الأسرع في اللفة وقدره 54.005 ثانية وبفارق 0.089 ثانية عن محمد العمادي الذي حل ثانيًا بزمن قدره 54.094 ثانية، فيما جاء ديان بيلا ثالثًا بزمن قدره 55.784 ثانية.

وفي منافسات فئة «P3» توج فرانشيسكو فورناسياري بالمركز الأول، مُسجّلًا الزمن الأسرع في اللفة وقدره 53.277 ثانية وبفارق 1.294 ثانية عن محمد المحمود صاحب المركز الثاني بزمن قدره 54.571 ثانية، فيما نال حسن القطامي المركز الثالث بزمن قدره 56.154 ثانية.

وأشاد عمرو الحمد المدير التنفيذي لاتحاد السيارات والدرّاجات النارية بالمستوى المميز والمشاركة الكبيرة في الجولة الأولى، مُشيرًا إلى أنها أكدت على النجاح الكبير في الموسم الماضي بالرغم من الظروف الاستثنائية بسبب فيروس كورونا، لاسيما أن اتحاد السيارات كان من الاتحادات القليلة التي نجحت في استكمال كل البطولات في 2020.

وأبدى الحمد سعادته بالتطور الكبير في البطولة حيث تم إضافة فئتين جديدتين للسيدات والسيارات الكهربائية، مشيرًا إلى أن الموسم الحالي سيكون مُختلفًا حيث يمتد طوال العام باستثناء فترة الصيف، وهو ما أتاح فرصة أكبر للمتسابقين للمشاركة.
