MEED Magazine: Qatar’s Projects are the Biggest in the Gulf Region

Doha: “MEED” magazine published a report in which it talked about the largest projects of various sectors in the Gulf region for the current year, and Qatar came among the list of countries most focused on liquefied natural gas projects in light of its work to raise the volume of its annual production to 110 million tons by the year 2022, in addition to its plans that aim to develop its infrastructure in terms of stadiums and the transport and communications sectors, as part of its preparations for hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022, stressing that the markets in Doha are among the most active in the region, despite the difficult conditions that the world has gone through since the beginning of last year due to The new Coronavirus spreading all over countries on all continents.

The report added that the volume of investments that Qatar has allocated to double its production of liquefied natural gas, through the expansion of Al-Shamal Field, is estimated at about 20 billion dollars, equivalent to 72.8 billion riyals, which it has added massively and in line with the goals that Doha aims to achieve in the next stage, represented by playing a major role in filling the world’s demands regarding LNG, and occupying the leadership in terms of financing the countries of the continents of Asia and Europe, which will be possible in a few years from now.

The report indicated that the infrastructure sector is one of the most advanced areas in Qatar, thanks to the projects that were delivered over the past years as part of the state’s preparations for organizing the 22nd edition of the World Cup, as the Doha Metro project was completely delivered, and In addition for a number of stadiums concerned with hosting the World Cup after about 23 months from now are expected to continue moving forward in the current year, given the Governorate of Doha on the pattern of spending on this sector in order to succeed in the challenge of receiving the twenty-second edition of the FIFA World Cup, The remainder of the stadiums will be launched in the coming months, with clear progress in the transport and communications sectors.

The report emphasized that Qatar is among the countries least affected by the crisis of the “Covid-19” pandemic, based on a set of statistics, in the forefront of which is a slight decline estimated at 10% in the percentage of contracts concluded during the first six months of 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, and much higher than the same stage two years ago, which means that Qatar is able to overcome difficult health conditions with minimal economic damage.

الدوحة: نشرت مجلة “MEED” تقريرا تحدثت فيه عن أكبر المشاريع المختلفة القطاعات في منطقة الخليج للعام الحالي، وجاءت قطر ضمن قائمة أكثر الدول تركيزا على مشاريع الغاز الطبيعي المسال في ظل عملها على رفع حجم إنتاجها السنوي إلى 110 ملايين طن بحلول عام 202، بالإضافة إلى خططها الرامية إلى تنمية بنيتها التحتية فيما يخص الملاعب وقطاعي النقل والاتصالات، في إطار استعداداتها الخاصة باحتضان كأس العالم لكرة القدم في 2022، مؤكدا أن الأسواق في الدوحة تعد من بين الأكثر نشاطا في المنطقة، بالرغم من الظروف الصعبة التي مر بها العالم منذ بداية السنة الماضية بسبب تفشي فيروس كورونا المستجد في جميع البلدان على اختلاف قاراتها.

وأضاف التقرير أن حجم الاستثمارات التي خصصتها قطر لمضاعفة إنتاجها من الغاز الطبيعي المسال، عن طريق توسعة حقل الشمال تقدر بحوالي 20 مليار دولار أي ما يعادل 72.8 مليار ريال، وهي القيمة التي وضفها بالضخمة والمتماشية مع الأهداف التي ترمي الدوحة إلى تحقيقها في المرحلة المقبلة، والمتمثلة في لعب دور كبير في سد طلبات العالم فيما يتعلق بالغاز الطبيعي المسال، واحتلال الريادة من حيث تمويل دول قارتي آسيا وأوربا، وهو ما سيكون ممكنا بعد سنوات قليلة من الآن.

وبين التقرير أن قطاع البنية التحتية يعتبر أحد أكثر المجالات تقدما في قطر، بفضل المشاريع التي تم تسليمها طيلة الأعوام السابقة ضمن تحضيرات الدولة لتنظيم مونديال كرة القدم في نسخته الثانية والعشرين، حيث تم الانتهاء من تسليم مشروع مترو الدوحة كاملا، زد إلى ذلك عدد من الملاعب المعنية باستقبال كأس العالم بعد حوالي 23 شهرا من الآن، متوقعا أن يواصل السير إلى الأمام في السنة الجارية، بالنظر إلى محافظة الدوحة على نسق الإنفاق على هذا القطاع بغية النجاح في تحدي استقبال النسخة الثانية والعشرين من مونديال كرة القدم، منتظرا تدشين ما تبقى من الملاعب في الأشهر القادمة مع تسجيل تقدم واضح في قطاعي النقل والاتصالات.

وأكد التقرير أن قطر تعد من بين أقل الدول تأثرا بأزمة جائحة “كوفيد – 19″، بناء على مجموعة من الإحصائيات التي في مقدمتها تسجيل تراجع بسيط يقدر بـ 10 % في نسبة العقود المبرمة خلال الستة أشهر الأولى من عام 2020، مقارنة بالفترة ذاتها من عام 2019، وأعلى بكثير من ذات المرحلة قبل عامين من الآن، ما يعني تمكن قطر من تجاوز الظروف الصحية الصعبة بأقل الأضرار الاقتصادية.
