The largest batch of vaccines arrives in Qatar

Doha: Qatar Airways Cargo has crossed a milestone transport of over 1.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses into the State of Qatar, with its largest batch of more than 530,000 Pfizer and Moderna vaccines arriving yesterday morning from Amsterdam.

The airline has played a significant role throughout the pandemic and is committed to helping people and giving back to communities, in alignment with its sustainability programme WeQare, based on the core pillars of sustainability – environment, society, economy and culture.

Guillaume Halleux, Chief Officer Cargo said, “We remain committed and resilient in the fight against the pandemic and together with our partners, are ensuring the safe, timely and efficient transportation of these life-saving supplies. I am glad that all our teams have worked so hard to coordinate this milestone transport into the State of Qatar, supporting the country with its COVID-19 immunization campaign in the fight against the pandemic.”

Since December 2020, Qatar Airways Cargo has transported COVID-19 vaccines to several countries around the world including the State of Qatar, providing large populations access to these vital vaccines, thanks to the dedication and coordinated efforts of its global teams and ground handling partners. Globally, the cargo carrier has surpassed a milestone with close to 20 million COVID-19 vaccines transported into 24 different countries, including COVID-19 vaccines for UNICEF as part of the five-year MoU to support UNICEFs Humanitarian Airfreight Initiative.

الدوحة: تجاوز عدد جرعات لقاح /كوفيد-19/ التي نقلتها القطرية للشحن الجوي على متن رحلاتها إلى دولة قطر 1.5 مليون جرعة، مع وصول أكبر دفعة من لقاحات فايزر و موديرنا صباح أمس من أمستردام.

وتماشياً مع برنامجها المستدام “WeQare” الذي يستند إلى ركائز الاستدامة البيئية والمجتمع والاقتصاد والثقافة، ساهمت القطرية للشحن الجوي بدور كبير طوال فترة انتشار الجائحة، وأكدت التزامها بخدمة المجتمعات التي تخدمها وتسير رحلاتها إليها.

وقال السيد غيوم هالو رئيس عمليات الشحن الجوي في الخطوط الجوية القطرية ” نحرص على مواصلة التزامنا في مكافحة هذه الجائحة، لذا نعمل مع شركائنا لضمان نقل آمن وسريع وذي كفاءة لهذه اللقاحات التي تساهم في إنقاذ الأرواح”، مضيفا إن “الجهود الكبيرة التي تبذلها فرقنا لتنسيق عملية نقل اللقاحات إلى دولة قطر تدعو إلى السعادة والفخر، وستلعب دوراً مهماً في دعم حملة التطعيم التي أطلقتها الدولة لمواجهة هذه الجائحة”.

ومنذ ديسمبر 2020، نقلت القطرية للشحن الجوي لقاحات /كوفيد-19/ إلى العديد من الدول حول العالم، بما في ذلك دولة قطر، لتساهم في توفير اللقاح لشريحة كبيرة من المجتمع المحلي.

وبفضل الالتزام الكبير الذي أظهرته الناقلة وفرقها العالمية وشركاؤها في المناولة الأرضية في مختلف الدول عالمياً، وصل عدد لقاحات /كوفيد-19/ التي نقلتها القطرية للشحن الجوي على متن رحلاتها إلى 20 مليون لقاح تقريباً وتم إيصالها إلى 24 دولة.

ويشمل هذا الرقم جرعات لقاح /كوفيد-19/ الخاصة بمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة (اليونيسف) التي نقلتها القطرية للشحن الجوي ضمن مذكرة التفاهم المبرمة مع (اليونيسف) لمدة خمسة أعوام.
