QRCS inks MoU with Sudanese charity to serve needy people

Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Sudan’s Zinorain Charity Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which represents a legal framework for joint cooperation in various humanitarian fields serving the needy in the Republic of Sudan.

QRCS Secretary-General Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi and Secretary-General of Zinorain Charity Foundation Emadeddin Bakri Abuharaz signed the MoU.

Al Hammadi highlighted the deep relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Sudan, especially in the field of humanitarian work to serve the communities in Sudan. He pointed out that QRCS mission is overseeing many projects in various sectors of the humanitarian work, especially the sectors of water, sanitation, food security, sustainable development, livelihood support, the establishment of peace and social harmony.

QRCS Secretary-General added that this agreement is a reflection of the vision and objectives of the two parties and the basic principles of the international humanitarian movement, with the aim of achieving the common desire to provide humanitarian, voluntary and urgent relief services within the framework of cooperation with national and regional organizations in the same field on the basis of mutual trust.

Abuharaz welcomed any joint activity that would serve vulnerable groups in Sudan and contribute to raising their standard of living, stressing that such actions and initiatives are not new to QRCS and the State of Qatar, which has an honorable record of historical cooperation with the Republic of Sudan in various fields and at all levels.

The agreement provides for the cooperation of the two parties in areas of common interest through providing the necessary support to reach the common humanitarian objectives, exchanging information related to the joint projects and the relief and humanitarian conditions, in addition to exchange of invitations to attend cultural, humanitarian and educational activities, organize workshops, training and conferences as well as the exchange of expertise, advice and trained human cadres.

وقع الهلال الأحمر القطري مذكرة تفاهم ثنائية مع منظمة ذي النورين الخيرية السودانية، كإطار قانوني للتعاون المشترك في مختلف المجالات الإنسانية التي تخدم المحتاجين في جمهورية السودان، وقع الاتفاقية سعادة السفير علي بن حسن الحمادي الأمين العام للهلال الأحمر القطري، والسيد عماد الدين بكري أبو حراز رئيس مجلس إدارة منظمة ذي النورين الخيرية.

وعلى هامش التوقيع، رحب الحمادي بالضيف الكريم، وأكد له على عمق الروابط التي تجمع بين البلدين الشقيقين، وخاصة في مجال العمل الإنساني لخدمة المجتمعات المحلية في السودان، حيث تشرف بعثة الهلال الأحمر القطري التمثيلية هناك على العديد من المشاريع في مختلف قطاعات العمل الإنساني، وعلى رأسها قطاعات المياه، والإصحاح، والأمن الغذائي، والتنمية المستدامة، ودعم سبل كسب العيش، وترسيخ السلم، والوئام الاجتماعي.

وأضاف الحمادي: «تأتي هذه الاتفاقية استلهاماً لرؤية وأهداف الطرفين والمبادئ الأساسية للحركة الإنسانية الدولية، بهدف تحقيق الرغبة المشتركة للطرفين في تقديم الخدمات الإنسانية والتطوعية والإغاثة العاجلة، في إطار التعاون مع المنظمات الوطنية والإقليمية في المجال ذاته على أساس الثقة المتبادلة».

ومن جانبه، قال أبو حراز: «أود أن أشكر الهلال الأحمر القطري جزيل الشكر على حفاوة الضيافة وروح التعاون، وترحيبه بدعم أي نشاط من شأنه أن يخدم الفئات الضعيفة في السودان، ويساهم في رفع مستوى معيشتها. وهو أمر ليس بالجديد على الهلال الأحمر القطري ودولة قطر، التي تتمتع بسجل مشرف من التعاون التاريخي مع جمهورية السودان في شتى المجالات وعلى مختلف المستويات».

وتنص الاتفاقية على تعاون الطرفين في مساحات الاهتمام المشترك، من خلال تقديم الدعم اللازم للوصول إلى الأهداف الإنسانية المشتركة، وتبادل المعلومات المتعقلة بالمشاريع المشتركة بين الطرفين والأوضاع الإغاثية والإنسانية في أماكن تواجدهما القانوني، وتبادل الدعوات لحضور الأنشطة الثقافية والإنسانية والتعليمية التي من الممكن أن تكون محل اهتمام الطرف الآخر، وتنظيم ورش العمل والتدريب والمؤتمرات المتصلة بالمواضيع ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وتبادل الخبرات والنصائح والكوادر الإنسانية المدربة.;
