Qatar’s first self-driving delivery kicks off at Education City
انطلاق أول مركبة توصيل ذاتية القيادة في قطر في المدينة التعليمية

Through a partnership with talabat and sponsorship of Vodafone and support from Qatar Foundation Research, Development and Innovation, Qatari firm Airlift System’s driverless vehicle is set to serve Education City occupants for three months.
Students and staff at the Male Students Housing Building, Guest Residence Building and Female Students Housing Building will have the opportunity to order through talabat platform and get their orders delivered via the driverless vehicle, according to a statement.
Education City residents will be able to place orders on talabat and pay online to get their deliveries just in time. As soon as the restaurant trigger the pickup alarm, Airlift vehicle will be driven to the restaurant location and initiate the loading sequence.
Once completed, order status will be changed to In-Route and customer will be notified as soon as the vehicle arrives at the nearest parking location and gets to view the location on the map. At the delivery point, customers will use a QR code to unlock the vehicle’s compartment and receive the package securely.
Delivery trips will start from Multaqa Building. The vehicle will be driving at speed limited to 6 km/h, which is equivalent to human walking pace. Route used will be strictly limited to sidewalk and roadway for crossings only.
This pilot is a trial of the vehicle’s capacity to show astute conduct comparable to, or indistinct from, that of a human.
“It will also aim at obtaining consumer feedback and using it to develop strategies that ensures consumer satisfaction in a long-term deployment. Ultimately, it’s an opportunity to prove that this technology will play a significant role in reducing carbon footprint and addressing traffic safety concerns.

The vehicle will be monitored remotely in a control room at the Education City, equipped with a real-time low latency feedback from the vehicle supported by Vodafone 5G network. This will allow the operator to have access to control the vehicle in emergency cases and to stop the vehicle when needed.

الدوحة: من خلال شراكة مع “طلبات” ورعاية فودافون ودعم من مؤسسة قطر للبحث والتطوير والابتكار، من المقرر أن تخدم مركبة شركة “إيرليفت سيستيم” القطرية ذاتية القيادة سكان المدينة التعليمية لمدة ثلاثة أشهر.
وذكر بيان أن الطلاب والعاملين في مبنى سكن الطلاب الذكور ومبنى سكن الضيوف ومبنى سكن الطالبات سيتمكنون من الطلب من خلال منصة طلبات وتسلّم طلباتهم عن طريق العربة ذاتية القيادة.
سيتمكن سكان المدينة التعليمية من الطلب على “طلبات” والدفع عبر الإنترنت للحصول على ما طلبوه في الوقت المناسب. بمجرد أن يطلق المطعم إنذار التسلّم، سيتم قيادة مركبة “إيرليفت” إلى موقع المطعم وبدء عملية التحميل.
بمجرد الانتهاء، سيتم تغيير حالة الطلب إلى In-Route وسيتم إخطار العميل بمجرد وصول السيارة إلى أقرب موقع لوقوف السيارات والوصول إلى عرض الموقع على الخريطة. عند نقطة التسليم، سوف يستخدم العملاء رمز الاستجابة السريعة لفتح مقصورة السيارة واستلام الطرد بشكل آمن.
ستبدأ رحلات التوصيل من مبنى ملتقى. ستسير المركبة بسرعة محدودة ب 6 كم / ساعة، وهو ما يعادل وتيرة مشي الإنسان. وسوف يقتصر الطريق المستخدم على الرصيف والطريق للمعابر فقط.
هذه المركبة التجريبية هي تجربة لقدرة السيارة على إظهار سلوك ذكي مماثل ، أو غير مختلف عن سلوك الإنسان.
كما ستهدف أيضاً إلى الحصول على ردود فعل المستهلكين واستخدامها في وضع استراتيجيات تضمن رضا المستهلك في عملية نشر طويلة الأجل. وفي نهاية المطاف، إنها فرصة لإثبات أن هذه التكنولوجيا ستلعب دورًا مهمًا في الحد من انبعاثات الكربون ومعالجة المخاوف المتعلقة بالسلامة المرورية.

وسيتم رصد السيارة عن بعد من غرفة التحكم في المدينة التعليمية، ومجهزة بردود فعل منخفضة الكمون في الوقت الحقيقي من السيارة التي تدعمها شبكة الجيل الخامس من فودافون . وهذا سيسمح للمشغل بالوصول إلى السيطرة على السيارة في حالات الطوارئ وإيقاف السيارة عند الحاجة.
وقال المدير العام لشركة “طلبات قطر” فرانسيسكو ميغيل سوسا: “في الوقت المقبل، كان فريق شركة” إيرليفت” الناشئة المحلي في طليعة هذا الجهد – وفي توحيد الجهود مع طلبات، أصبح الفريق الآن في وضع يؤهله للبحث عن حلول للوفاء بهذا الوعد بشكل أسرع. وأتطلع إلى بدء العمل مع أحمد و” إيرليفت” وفودافون ومؤسسة قطر لايصال أحدث الابتكارات التي شهدتها صناعتنا إلى شبكة طلبات وعملائها”.
