MOPH: The development of a Covid-19 vaccine does not mean that it is ineffective

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health published a number of awareness videos issued by the Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and among these awareness-raising videos, one that came to answer the question of a large segment of the public, which is: Does the speedy access to the emerging anti-Coronavirus vaccine “Covid-19” indicate the lack of safety and the abandonment of safety standards?

The video answers the question through a number of facts, the most important of which is that international scientific organizations have united their efforts to develop a vaccine against the emerging coronavirus, as well as governments providing billions of dollars for research centers around the world to accelerate the process of research and tools, In addition, the legislative authorities gave priority to developing the vaccine faster and making it available for distribution after approval, and clinical trials were also interrelated to speed up the process of producing the vaccine.

The video indicated that accelerating steps does not mean abandoning safety in developing the vaccine, as the vaccine undergoes development in laboratories to ensure its effectiveness by testing it on animals to ensure its safety, as more than 150 Coronavirus vaccines have reached the stage of animal testing, then the stage the human clinical development consists of 3 stages:

Only 10 vaccines have exceeded the first stage, after which the vaccine is subject to verification in practice, examining clinical trials, inspecting the manufacturing facility, and presenting the results to the advisory committee. Passing these steps means effectiveness and safety, as well as the superiority of benefits over the risks, as in the cases of the measles and polio vaccines.

The Ministry of Public Health also broadcasted on its Twitter account an awareness video entitled “To the vaccine” calling on the public to receive the vaccine, and the role of the vaccine in returning life to normalcy.

الدوحة: نشرت وزارة الصحة العامة عددا من الفيديوهات التوعوية الصادرة عن مجلس الصحة التابع لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، وكان من بين هذه الفيديوهات التوعوية الذي جاء ليجيب على سؤال شريحة كبيرة من الجمهور وهو: هل سرعة الوصول إلى اللقاح المضاد لفيروس كورونا المستجد “كوفيد-19” يشير إلى عدم المأمونية والتخلي عن معايير السلامة، ليجيب الفيديو عن التساؤل من خلال جملة من الحقائق أهمها، هو أن المنظمات العالمية العلمية وحدت جهودها من أجل تطوير لقاح مضاد لفيروس كورونا المستجد، فضلا عن توفير الحكومات مليارات الدولارات لمراكز الأبحاث حول العالم لتسريع عملية البحث والأدوات، كما أن الجهات التشريعية أعطت أولوية لإنجاز اللقاح بشكل أسرع، وتوفيره ليتم توزيعه بعد الموافقة عليه، كما أن التجارب السريرية كانت متداخلة لتسريع عملية انتاج اللقاح.

وأشار الفيديو إلى أن تسريع الخطوات لا يعني التخلي عن السلامة والمأمونية في تطوير اللقاح، حيث إن اللقاح يخضع للتطوير في المختبرات للتأكد من فعاليته من خلال اختباره على الحيوانات للتأكد من مأمونيته، حيث إن أكثر من 150 لقاح لكورونا بلغ مرحلة التجارب على الحيوانات، ثم مرحلة التطور السريري على الإنسان وهي 3 مراحل المرحلة الأولى لم يتجاوزها سوى 10 لقاحات، وبعدها يخضع اللقاح إلى التحقق منه عمليا، الإطلاع على التجارب السريرية، تفتيش منشأة التصنيع، وعرض النتائج على اللجنة الاستشارية، فمروره بهذه الخطوات تعني الفعالية والمأمونية، فضلا عن تفوق المنافع على المخاطر، كما حدث مع لقاحات الحصبة وشلل الأطفال.

كما بثت وزارة الصحة العامة على حسابها على منصة تويتر فيديو توعويا بعنوان “إلى اللقاح” يدعو الجمهور إلى تلقي اللقاح، ودور اللقاح في عودة الحياة إلى طبيعتها.
