MSDF, Doha Horticultural Expo 2023 Celebrate Family Day in Qatar

Doha: In cooperation with Doha Horticultural Expo 2023, the Ministry of Social Development and the Family (MSDF) celebrated Family Day in Qatar, which falls on April 15, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to emphasize the importance of the family as the nucleus of society and its pivotal and active role in the development and building process.

During a ceremony held at Al Bidda Park dedicated to Doha Horticultural Expo 2023, HE Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and HE Minister of Social Development and Family Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad participated in planting a bramble tree, which characterizes the Qatari environment. They also participated in an iftar party with the elderly.

The celebration of Family Day in Qatar aims at enhancing awareness and family and social cohesion, gratitude and loyalty to the family, supporting the spirit of cooperation among its members, reviving the authentic Qatari family values, consolidating the value of tolerance, emphasizing the rights of the family and strengthening its position as a social institution that is the first building block of society.

In a press statement, HE the Minister of Social Development and the Family stressed that the celebration of Family Day in Qatar is an occasion and a community initiative to emphasize the role of the family and its position in society, adding that the family is the nucleus of society. When a family is properly built and educated about its duties and role, this will inevitably lead to building a good, cohesive and strong society, she said.

Regarding the joint cooperation with the Doha Horticultural Expo 2023 in organizing this celebration, HE the Minister of Social Development and the Family expressed gratitude for this cooperation, in an effort to instill values and build a strong, cohesive family. A confirmation of this is the Ministry’s participation today in planting bramble tree owing to its very important cultural and social dimensions, HE the Minister affirmed.

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, she said, is the first government agency to participate and cooperate with the international exhibition (Doha Horticultural Expo 2023) by celebrating this occasion in Al Bidda Park designated for the exhibition.

HE Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie noted the Ministry’s keenness on participating along with the Ministry of Social Development and the Family in celebrating Family Day in Qatar because it is an important day in strengthening the cohesion of families, and spreading awareness of the role of the family in development, stressing that all institutions and bodies must play their role in building a strong and cohesive society.

His Excellency pointed out that this was the first activity done in the land designated for the International Horticultural Exhibition scheduled to begin in October, noting that other activities will be organized in the coming months.

He stressed that preparations for the Doha Horticultural Expo 2023 are in full swing, including the establishment of infrastructure and the design of pavilions for the participating countries, whose number has so far reached more than 60 countries, adding preparations are underway optimally. For the plan and calendar of the exhibition’s activities over a period of 179 days, it will be presented to the public with wide participation from all government agencies, universities, research centers and other sectors in the country, he said.

For her part, Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs at the MSDF HE Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al-Thani affirmed the Ministry’s keenness on spreading the culture, practice, and skill of creating happy, strong, and cohesive families in Qatar by reviving societal values and traditions.

She stressed that advancing the family as an entity cannot be done by individual efforts alone, rather it requires the collaboration of all governmental and societal institutions to support and care for the family, protecting its security, stability, and cohesion, and ensuring its resilience as the nucleus of a stable society and a country that enjoys a rapid economic growth and a solid social structure in face of challenges.

In her turn, the Director of the Social Welfare Department at MSDF Reem Al Ajmi said that celebrating Family Day in Qatar is a reflection of the priority and importance the government attaches to the family, as well as social institutions’ role in supporting and developing community building and development in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Qatar National Development Strategy.

Al Ajami pointed out that MSDF’s celebration of this event comes within the framework of its constant efforts to promote social culture, emphasizing the role of the family in society’s formation and in the preservation of its identity, customs and traditions.

MSDF had launched several events on this occasion, accompanied by a series of awareness lectures in schools and mosques, as well as entertainment activities focused on enhancing feelings of belonging, joy and cohesion among family members, as well as educating society about the importance of the family, and activating its pioneering and leadership role in upbringing the young.

In addition, Director of Events and Corporate Communication Department at Doha Horticultural Expo 2023 Haifa Al Otaibi said that MSDF is the first government agency to confirm its participation in the activities of Doha Horticultural Expo 2023 by planting the first seedlings in the exhibition venue.

She explained that the theme of the Doha Horticultural Expo 2023 is “Green desert, better environment.” adding that the State of Qatar aims to face and overcome a great challenge, and that is transforming this desert region into a greener one, with well thought out strategies and plans towards this end.

Haifa Al Otaibi stressed that celebrating Qatar Family Day reinforces the efforts of society as a whole in achieving the State of Qatar’s goals for the future.

الدوحة: احتفلت وزارة التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة بالتعاون مع (إكسبو 2023 الدوحة للبستنة) بيوم الأسرة في قطر، الذي يوافق الخامس عشر من أبريل، في إطار جهود الوزارة للتأكيد على أهمية الأسرة كنواة للمجتمع، وعلى دورها المحوري والفاعل في مسيرة التنمية والبناء.

وخلال الحفل الذي أقيم بحديقة البدع المخصصة لـ (إكسبو 2023 الدوحة للبستنة) شارك سعادة الدكتور عبد الله بن عبد العزيز بن تركي السبيعي وزير البلدية، وسعادة السيدة مريم بنت علي بن ناصر المسند وزير التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة، بغرس شجرة العوسج التي تتميز بها البيئة القطرية، كما تمت المشاركة في مائدة إفطار مع كبار السن.

ويأتي الاحتفال بيوم الأسرة في قطر بهدف تعزيز الوعي والترابط الأسري والاجتماعي، والعرفان والوفاء للأسرة، ودعم روح التعاون بين أفرادها، وإحياء القيم الأسرية القطرية الأصيلة، وترسيخ قيمة التسامح، والتأكيد على حقوق الأسرة وتعزيز مكانتها كمؤسسة اجتماعية تعتبر اللبنة الأولى في كيان المجتمع.

كما يأتي الاحتفال في إطار تكثيف الجهود من أجل الارتقاء بالأسرة وتنمية ثقافتها لتؤدي وظيفتها على الوجه الأكمل، وخلق مجتمع متماسك ومتلاحم ينعم بالرعاية الاجتماعية في بيئة معطاءة ومستدامة.

وبهذه المناسبة، أكدت سعادة وزير التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة في تصريح صحفي أن الاحتفال بيوم الأسرة في قطر مناسبة ومبادرة مجتمعية، للتأكيد على دور الأسرة ومكانتها في المجتمع.. وقالت: “إننا عندما نتحدث عن الأسرة نتحدث عن لبنة أساسية في المجتمع القطري، بل اللبنة الأولى التي يبنى عليها الكثير على مختلف الأصعدة”.

وتابعت: “الأسرة هي نواة المجتمع، فإذا حسن تأهيل وتوعية الأسرة بواجباتها ودورها سيؤدي ذلك حتما إلى بناء مجتمع صالح متماسك وقوي”.

وحول التعاون المشترك مع معرض (إكسبو 2023 الدوحة للبستنة) في تنظيم هذا الاحتفال، عبرت سعادة وزير التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة عن الامتنان لهذا التعاون، سعيا لغرس القيم وبناء أسرة قوية متماسكة.. مضيفة: “وللتأكيد على ذلك نشارك اليوم في غرس شجرة العوسج، وذلك لما لها من أبعاد ثقافية واجتماعية بالغة الأهمية”.

ونوهت بأن “يوم الأسرة في قطر هو تذكير بأن لدينا التزامات تجاه الأسرة وأفرادها، فالأسرة هي الشجرة المثمرة والمعطاءة الثابتة بجذور أصيلة، مما يحتم علينا المساهمة في تعزيز روابطها وتمكينها وتعزيز استقرارها”.

كما عبرت عن سعادتها بأن تكون وزارة التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة أول جهة حكومية تشارك وتتعاون مع المعرض الدولي (إكسبو 2023 الدوحة للبستنة) من خلال الاحتفال بهذه المناسبة بحديقة البدع المخصصة للمعرض.

بدوره، قال سعادة الدكتور عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز بن تركي السبيعي وزير البلدية: إن الوزارة حرصت على مشاركة وزارة التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة الاحتفال بيوم الأسرة في قطر؛ لما لهذا اليوم من أهمية في تعزيز التماسك الأسرى، ونشر الوعي بدور الأسرة في التنمية.. مؤكدا أن على كافة المؤسسات والجهات الاضطلاع بدورها في بناء مجتمع قوي ومتماسك.

وأشار سعادته إلى أن هذه أول فعالية في الأرض المخصصة للمعرض الدولي للبستنة المقرر في أكتوبر المقبل.. منوها بأنه سيتم تنظيم فعاليات أخرى خلال الأشهر المقبلة.

وأكد أن التحضيرات لمعرض (إكسبو 2023 الدوحة للبستنة) تجري على قدم وساق، ومن ذلك إقامة البنية التحتية وتصميم الأجنحة للدول المشاركة، التي وصل عددها حتى الآن إلى أكثر من 60 دولة.. مضيفا: “الاستعدادات جارية بصورة مثلى، وبالنسبة لمخطط وروزنامة فعاليات المعرض على مدى 179 يوما ستكون مطروحة للجمهور بمشاركة واسعة من جميع الجهات الحكومية والجامعات والمراكز البحثية وغيرها من القطاعات في الدولة”.

من ناحيتها، أكدت سعادة الشيخة شيخة بنت جاسم آل ثاني، وكيل الوزارة المساعد لشؤون الأسرة بوزارة التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة، حرص الوزارة على تعميم ثقافة وممارسة ومهارات بناء أسر سعيدة قوية ومتماسكة في قطر، عبر إحياء استحقاقات منظومة القيم والتقاليد المجتمعية.

وأشارت إلى أن الاحتفال بيوم الأسرة متعدد الأوجه والأنشطة والفعاليات، منها المحاضرات والورش التوعوية الهادفة.. منوهة بأن الاهتمام الكبير بالأسرة يأتي من كونها اللبنة الأساس في بناء المجتمع والنهوض به.

وشددت على أن النهوض بالأسرة لا يتم بجهود فردية، بل بتضافر كافة الجهات الحكومية والمجتمعية، لدعمها ورعايتها وحماية أمنها واستقرارها وتماسكها، وضمان استدامة قوتها كنواة لمجتمع مستقر وبلد ينعم بوتيرة نمو اقتصادي وبناء اجتماعي صلب بوجه التحديات.

وبدورها، قالت السيدة ريم العجمي القائم بأعمال مدير إدارة الرعاية المجتمعية: إن الاحتفال بهذا اليوم يعكس الأولوية والأهمية التي يوليها برنامج الحكومة للأسرة، ودور المؤسسات الاجتماعية في دعم وتنمية البناء والنمو المجتمعي وفقا لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، واستراتيجية التنمية الوطنية.

وأشارت إلى أن احتفال وزارة التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة بهذه الفعالية يأتي في إطار سعيها وجهودها الدائمة لتعزيز الثقافة الاجتماعية، التي تؤكد على دور الأسرة في البناء المجتمعي، والحفاظ على الهوية والعادات والتقاليد الأصيلة.

وكانت وزارة التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة قد أطلقت عدة فعاليات بهذه المناسبة، ورافقتها سلسلة محاضرات توعوية في المدارس والمساجد، وفعاليات ترفيهية تركز على تعزيز مشاعر الألفة والبهجة والتماسك بين أفراد الأسرة الواحدة، وتوعية المجتمع بأهمية الأسرة، وتفعيل دورها الريادي والقيادي في تربية النشء.

إلى ذلك، قالت هيفاء العتيبي، مدير إدارة الفعاليات والاتصال المؤسسي في (إكسبو 2023 الدوحة للبستنة): إن وزارة التنمية الاجتماعية والأسرة أول جهة حكومية تؤكد مشاركتها في فعاليات /إكسبو 2023/، وذلك من خلال غرس أولى الشتلات في منطقة المعرض.

وأضافت: “حرصنا على تنظيم هذه الفعالية بالتزامن مع يوم الأسرة في قطر، لنردد صدى هذه المناسبة الاجتماعية السنوية التي تسعى لدمج فئات المجتمع كافة، بما فيهم الشباب اليافعون وكبار السن وذوو الهمم”.

وأوضحت أن معرض إكسبو 2023 الدوحة يقام تحت شعار “صحراء خضراء بيئة أفضل”.. وقالت: “نرى بوضوح حجم التحدي الكبير الذي تسعى دولة قطر لتحقيقه عبر تغيير ملامح منطقتنا الصحراوية لتصبح منطقة أكثر اخضرارا، ولم يكن هذا الهدف وليد اللحظة، بل تم وضع استراتيجيات وخطط مدروسة للوصول إلى هذه النتيجة”.

وأكدت هيفاء العتيبي أن المشاركة في فعالية يوم الأسرة هي تعزيز لجهود كافة شرائح المجتمع لتحقيق الأهداف المستقبلية التي تسعى لها دولة قطر.
