مطالبات باتخاذ إجراءات ضد المشاة الذين يعبرون الطريق بشكل عشوائي
Doha: A number of citizens have called for the launch of a campaign to create awareness among pedestrians on how to safely cross streets and demanded action be taken against jaywalkers, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
They said jaywalking is common on a number of streets and main roads, most notably Abu Samra Road, Industrial Road, North Road and the Seventh Ring Road, as many pedestrians dangerously end up in front of vehicles travelling at high speed.
An Al-Raya photographer spotted a number of pedestrians climbing over the fence, crossing the road from the Industrial Roundabout to the zoo traffic lights, despite a pedestrian tunnel they could use.
The pedestrian violations come under three categories. The first is related to walking on the road edge, or on cycling tracks, and for not walking on the farthest edge of the road opposite to the direction of traffic, with a QR100 fine. The second is the violation or failure to exercise caution when crossing the road, with a QR200 fine, while the third fine is QR500 fine, for not abiding by the pedestrian traffic signals.
الدوحة: دعا عدد من المواطنين إلى إطلاق حملة لتوعية المارة بكيفية عبور الشوارع بأمان، وطالبوا باتخاذ إجراءات ضد المشاة الذين يعبرون الطريق بشكل عشوائي، حسبما ذكرت صحيفة “الراية” المحلية.
وقالوا إن عبور الطريق بشكل عشوائي شائع في عدد من الشوارع والطرق الرئيسية، أبرزها طريق أبو سمرة والطريق الصناعي والطريق الشمالي والطريق الدائري السابع، حيث ينتهي المطاف بالعديد من المارة بشكل خطير أمام المركبات التي تسير بسرعة عالية.
رصد مصور من “الراية” عددًا من المارة يتسلقون السياج، ويعبرون الطريق من الدوار الصناعي إلى إشارات المرور في حديقة الحيوان، على الرغم من نفق للمشاة يمكنهم استخدامه.
وتأتي مخالفات المشاة في ثلاث فئات. الأولى تتعلق بالمشي على حافة الطريق، أو على مسارات ركوب الدراجات، وعدم المشي على أبعد حافة من الطريق المقابلة لاتجاه حركة المرور، بغرامة 100 ريال قطري. والثانية هي المخالفة أو عدم توخي الحذر عند عبور الطريق، بغرامة بقيمة 200 ريال قطري، في حين أن الغرامة الثالثة هي غرامة 500 ريال قطري، لعدم الالتزام بإشارات مرور المشاة.
