“Civil Aviation” and “Meteorology” call on citizens and residents to exercise caution during the next two days

The General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Meteorological Department called on citizens and residents to exercise caution and avoid maritime activities and to follow up the latest updates and publications issued by their official accounts, in parallel with the continued instability during the next two days, especially during the afternoon.

The two sides pointed out that the city of Doha and most of the regions of the country witnessed today, and since morning hours of heavy rainfall unprecedented and unprecedented in Doha concentrated in all areas.

The General Civil Aviation Authority and the Meteorological Department said the rain was sometimes thunderous and was accompanied by high-speed winds of up to 42 knots, causing dust and low visibility to less than 1 km in some areas.

According to the report, the amount of rain recorded today ranged between medium and heavy, reaching 84 mm in the Abu Hamour area, the highest recorded in the Doha area during October, while the Ras Laffan station fell to 31 mm and Al Khor to 23 Mm.

In terms of aircraft traffic, the two sides noted that the emergency situation was handled with great seriousness to ensure the safety of passengers. Only nine flights were transferred to the airports of the Sultanate of Oman and Kuwait, and air traffic soon returned to normal.

It is noteworthy that the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Department of Meteorology have been alerted in their reports and warnings issued since Monday, the continued impact of the instability caused by the extension of air pressure on the country.

وأشارت الجهتان إلى أن مدينة الدوحة ومعظم مناطق الدولة شهدت اليوم، ومنذ ساعات الصباح هطول أمطار متفاوتة الغزارة وغير مسبوقة تركزت في الدوحة بجميع مناطقها.

وقالت الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني وإدارة الأرصاد الجوية، إن هذه الأمطار كانت رعدية أحيانا ومصحوبة برياح قوية السرعة وصلت سرعتها إلى 42 عقدة، مما أدى إلى إثارة الغبار وتدني مدى الرؤية إلى أقل من 1 كم على بعض المناطق.

وذكرتا أن كميات الأمطار المسجلة اليوم، تراوحت بين المتوسطة والغزيرة حيث بلغت أعلاها 84 ملم في منطقة “أبو هامور” وهي أعلى كمية مسجلة في مناطق الدوحة خلال شهر أكتوبر، فيما انخفضت بمحطة “رأس لفان” إلى 31 ملم، و”الخور” إلى 23 ملم.

ولفتت الجهتان فيما يتعلق بحركة الطائرات، إلى أنه تم التعامل مع الحالة الجوية الطارئة بكامل الجدية لضمان سلامة المسافرين، حيث تم تحويل 9 رحلات فقط إلى مطارات سلطنة عمان ودولة الكويت وسرعان ما عاودت الحركة الجوية للطائرات وضعها الطبيعي.

يذكر أن الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني وإدارة الأرصاد الجوية كانتا قد نبهتا في تقاريرهما وتحذيراتهما الصادرة منذ يوم الاثنين الماضي، إلى استمرار تأثير حالة عدم الاستقرار الناتجة عن امتداد منخفض جوي على أجواء البلاد.
