Ankara: Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced that his country signed an agreement with BioNTech company to buy vaccines developed by the company against the emerging Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Turkey’s health minister tweeted that his country and German company BioNTech struck a deal early Friday, and that initially, 550,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine would be sent to the country by the end of the year or early 2021 at the latest.
According to Fahrettin Koca, 4.5 million doses of the vaccine will be sent to Turkey by the end of March 2021 under the agreement, Anadolu news Agency reported.
The Minister went on to say that the delay in the process was because the company did not want to take any responsibility for possible production problems.
Yesterday, Turkey recorded 256 deaths from the Coronavirus, bringing the total to 19,371. Turkey has so far reported over 2.1 million patients and 19,371 deaths related to COVID-19 outbreak.

أنقرة: أعلن السيد فخر الدين قوجة، وزير الصحة التركي، عن توقيع بلاده اتفاقية مع شركة “بيونتيك” لشراء لقاحات طورتها الشركة ضد فيروس /كورونا/ المستجد “كوفيد-19”.
وقال قوجة، في سلسلة تغريدات على /تويتر/ بثتها وكالة أنباء /الأناضول/، إنه “من المنتظر أن تصل 550 ألف جرعة لقاح “بيونتيك” إلى تركيا حتى نهاية العام الجاري أو مطلع يناير المقبل”، موضحا أن بلاده ستتسلم 4.5 مليون جرعة من اللقاح حتى نهاية شهر مارس، وأن الاتفاق ينص على توفير قرابة 30 مليون جرعة.
ولفت وزير الصحة التركي إلى أن التأخير في التوصل إلى الاتفاقية، ناجم عن عدم قبول الشركة المصنعة تحمل مسؤولية المشاكل الناشئة عن إنتاج اللقاح.
وسجلت تركيا، أمس، 256 وفاة بفيروس /كورونا/، ليرتفع الإجمالي إلى 19 ألفا و371.. وقد أظهرت المعطيات الأخيرة لوزارة الصحة، ارتفاع حصيلة الإصابات إلى مليونين و118 ألفا و255 إصابة، إثر تشخيص 17 ألفا و543 حالة.
