UN praises Qatar’s support of UNODC
الأمم المتحدة تشيد بدعم دولة قطر لمكتب مكافحة المخدرات والجريمة

Vienna: The United Nations has praised the support of the State of Qatar for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna.
Director, Division for Treaty Affairs at UNODC, John Brandolino, expressed his sincere appreciation for the continued support provided by Qatar to the activities of the UNODC to enhancing international cooperation to address the threats posed by the transnational organised crime. He expressed his hope for further cooperation between the two sides in the future.
This came during a meeting between Brandolino and Qatar’s Acting Charge d’Affaires in Vienna Abdullah bin Nasser Al Fahid. The official expressed his gratitude for the Qatari government’s approval to extend the programme for the implementation of the Doha Declaration, launched by Qatar in support of world peace and development, and to strengthen the capacities of States to combat organised crime and related drug crimes, terrorism and corruption and to immunise the public, especially young people, from the dangers of such crimes.
أشادت منظمة الأمم المتحدة بالدعم الذي تقدمه دولة قطر للمكتب المعني بمكافحة المخدرات والجريمة التابع للمنظمة الدولية في فيينا.
وأعرب سعادة السيد جون براندولينو، مدير إدارة شؤون المعاهدات في مكتب الأمم المتحدة بفيينا المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة، عن خالص تقديره للدعم المستمر الذي تقدمه دولة قطر لأنشطة المكتب، وبما يعزز التعاون الدولي للتصدي للمخاطر التي تهدد العالم جراء الجريمة المنظمة العابرة للحدود.. معربا عن تطلعه لمزيد من التعاون بين الجانبين في المستقبل.
جاء ذلك خلال لقاء السيد براندولينو مع السيد عبدالله بن ناصر آل فهيد القائم بأعمال سفارة دولة قطر في فيينا.
وعبر المسؤول الأممي عن امتنانه لموافقة حكومة دولة قطر على تمديد البرنامج العالمي لتنفيذ إعلان الدوحة، والذي بادرت دولة قطر بتمويله خدمة للسلام والتنمية في العالم، وبما يعزز قدرات الدول في مكافحة الجريمة المنظمة وما يرتبط بها من جرائم المخدرات والإرهاب والفساد، وتحصين الجمهور، ولاسيما الشباب منهم، من مخاطر هذه الجرائم.
