رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية يحضر تدشين العمل الفني “جبال الدوحة الخمسة”

Doha: In the presence of HE Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Chairperson of Qatar Museums Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani inaugurated on Saturday the public art installation “Doha Mountains” by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone at the Ras Abou Aboud beachfront, near the 974 Stadium.
The “Doha Mountains” sculpture, which reflects the colors of the Olympic Rings, is yet another example of Qatar’s dedication to the Olympic Values of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect.
The masterpiece not only showcases the great importance and central focus of sport in the countrys national development, but also a lasting legacy that will forever remain a point of reference for a city that is realising its dream of hosting the best global sports events such as the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the intended hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
HE First Vice President of QOC Mohamed bin Yousef Al Mana, HE Second Vice President of QOC Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, HE QOC Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain and Director of Marketing and Communications of QOC Sheikha Asma Al-Thani attended the inauguration ceremony.
Several of Team Qatar’s Olympic stars and rising athletes were also present for the event, including: Mutaz Barshim (High Jump), Fares Ibrahim (Weightlifting), Cherif Younes and Ahmed Tijan (Beach Volleyball), Mohammed Suleiman (1500m athletic runner), Nada Mohammed Wafa (Swimming), Abdulla Al Tamimi (Squash), Maryam Al Buenein (Show Jumping)

الدوحة: بحضور سعادة الشيخ جوعان بن حمد آل ثاني رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية، دشنت سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس أمناء متاحف قطر، العمل الفني ” جبال الدوحة الخمسة” للفنان السويسري أوغو روندينون، بالقرب من استاد 974 بمنطقة رأس أبوعبود، وذلك في إطار استعدادات الدوحة لاستضافة بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022.
ويعكس العمل الفني الجديد ألوان الحلقات الأولمبية الخمس، ويشير إلى حرص الدوحة على نشر القيم والمبادئ الأولمبية، والتأكيد على أهمية الرياضة ومساهمتها في التنمية الوطنية للبلاد، كما يشكل إرثا مستداما لقطر، التي تحقق حلم جميع أبناء المنطقة العربية باستضافة بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022 في الفترة من 20 نوفمبر إلى 18 ديسمبر المقبلين، وتسعى مستقبلا لاستضافة الألعاب الأولمبية.
وحضر مراسم التدشين سعادة السيد محمد بن يوسف المانع النائب الأول لرئيس اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية، وسعادة الدكتور ثاني بن عبد الرحمن الكواري النائب الثاني لرئيس اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية، وسعادة السيد جاسم بن راشد البوعينين الأمين العام للجنة الأولمبية القطرية، و سعادة الشيخة أسماء بنت ثاني آل ثاني مدير إدارة التسويق والاتصال باللجنة، وعدد من الرياضيين القطريين من حملة الميداليات الأولمبية والآسيوية، من بينهم شريف يونس وأحمد تيجان (ثنائي المنتخب القطري للكرة الطائرة الشاطئية)، ومحمد سليمان (سباق 1500 متر)، وندى محمد وفا (سباحة)، ومريم البوعينين (قفز الحواجز).
