Precautionary measures are a protective shield against new Coronavirus strain: Dr. Al-Khal

Doha: Dr. Abdullatif al-Khal urged everyone to be cautious and be alert and continue to follow precautionary measures to avoid infection with the virus during this period, by continuing to wear a mask, maintain a safe distance from others and avoid crowded places, wash hands and increase diligence in applying these measures in social events such as weddings and the councils and the funeral homes, especially since many of the infections came during these occasions.

He stressed that the epidemic is still spreading sharply and larger than it was, as some countries are witnessing third and fourth waves of the epidemic, which constitutes a great burden on hospitals and intensive care units, and that some countries are facing a new strain of the virus more widespread than before, noting that it has been recorded. More than 75 million confirmed infections and more than 1,600,000 deaths so far.

الدوحة: حث الدكتور عبد اللطيف الخال الجميع بضرورة توخي الحذر وأخذ الحيطة والاستمرار في اتباع الإجراءات الاحترازية لتجنب الإصابة بالفيروس خلال هذه الفترة، وذلك بالاستمرار في لبس الكمامة والمحافظة على المسافة الآمنة من الآخرين وتجنب الأماكن المزدحمة، وغسل اليدين وزيادة الحرص في تطبيق هذه الإجراءات في المناسبات الاجتماعية كالأفراح والمجالس ودور العزاء، خاصة أن الكثير من الإصابات جاءت من خلال هذه المناسبات.

وأكد د. الخال على أن الوباء لا يزال ينتشر بشكل حاد وأكبر مما كان عليه، حيث تشهد بعض الدول موجات ثالثة ورابعة من الوباء مما يشكل عبئا كبيرا على المستشفيات ووحدات العناية المركزة، كما أن بعض الدول تواجه سلالة جديدة من الفيروس أكثر انتشارا من السابق علما بأنه تم تسجيل أكثر من 75 مليون إصابة مؤكدة وأكثر من مليون و600 ألف حالة وفاة حتى الآن.
