Qatar Joins International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers

Doha: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Interior, has officially joined the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers during the 21st conference that was held at the Officers Club of the General Directorate of Civil Defense via video conference.

In the conference, the delegation of the State of Qatar was chaired by Director General of Civil Defense Brigadier Hamad Othman Al Duhaimi.

Founded in 2001, the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers has 21 member states and it is based in the Russian Federation. The Federation aims to develop sports for firefighters and rescuers at the international level and to organize the world firefighters and rescue championship for member countries, in addition to introducing modern techniques in the field of firefighting, working on qualifying international referees in member states, and holding courses and lectures to develop their skills.

The Ministry of Interior’s accession to this sport federation provides an opportunity to participate in the tournaments that are held annually in which member states can partake. The sport events held by the Federation relate to the work of firefighters in rescue and combat operations. The participation of civil defense departments and the Qatari Police Sports Federation in such tournaments allows them to exchange experiences with member states and learn about the latest methods used in fire and rescue operations and the sports field.

الدوحة: انضمت دولة قطر رسميا ممثلة في وزارة الداخلية إلى الاتحاد الدولي الرياضي لرجال الإطفاء والإنقاذ وذلك خلال المؤتمر الـ/21/ الذي عقد بنادي الضباط بالإدارة العامة للدفاع المدني عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي.

وقد ترأس وفد دولة قطر في هذا المؤتمر العميد حمد عثمان الدهيمي مدير عام الإدارة العامة للدفاع المدني.

ويضم الاتحاد الدولي الرياضي لرجال الإطفاء والإنقاذ والذي تم إنشاؤه عام 2001 في عضويته /21/ دولة ويتخذ من جمهورية روسيا الاتحادية مقرا له، ويهدف الاتحاد إلى تطوير الرياضات الخاصة برجال الإطفاء والإنقاذ على المستوى الدولي وتنظيم بطولة العالم لرجال الإطفاء والإنقاذ للدول الأعضاء، إلى جانب التعريف بالتقنيات الحديثة في مجال الإطفاء والعمل على تأهيل حكام دوليين في الدول الأعضاء، وعقد الدورات والمحاضرات لتطوير مهاراتهم.

ويتيح انضمام وزارة الداخلية إلى هذا الاتحاد فرصة المشاركة في البطولات التي يتم عقدها بشكل سنوي والتي تشارك فيها الدول الأعضاء في الاتحاد.. وتعتبر الرياضات التي يقيمها الاتحاد ذات صلة بعمل رجال الإطفاء في عمليات الإنقاذ والمكافحة، ومن المتوقع أن تساهم المشاركة في البطولات بالنفع على إدارتي الدفاع المدني والاتحاد الرياضي القطري للشرطة من خلال تبادل الخبرات مع الدول الأعضاء والتزود بأحدث الطرق المستخدمة في عمليات الإطفاء والإنقاذ والمجال الرياضي.
