Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the Public Cleaning Department, launched a comprehensive cleaning campaign for the northwestern shores of the country from Abu Dhalouf to Zekreet, with a length of more than (150) kilometers, and the campaign will continue for two consecutive months, during which tons of various waste and a number of dead animals will be removed. The removal of approximately 70 to 150 tons of miscellaneous waste during the campaign that extends for a specified schedule from the beginning of December until the end of January.
Muhammad Faraj Al-Kubaisi, Assistant Director of the Public Cleaning Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, explained that the work was distributed during the campaign on three phases, starting with cleaning the beaches from Al-‘Arish and its beaches with a length of 29 kilometers, then cleaning the beaches extending from the Um Hish area, a length of 70 kilometers, and then cleaning the beaches extending from The Khuzan area up to the Zekreet area with a length of 80 kilometers, and he stressed that such programs for cleaning beaches include all regions of the country, and work is underway to implement them in a smooth manner so that such actions do not affect the daily work programs, as the implementation plan of the program was developed according to the beaches’ priorities.
He said in exclusive statements to Al-Raya: Public Cleanliness Department coordinates with various authorities to remove the waste immediately, and sends an integrated team to finish cleaning work in the midst of a plan to organize the cleaning process in the various regions of the country, explaining that the Public Cleanliness Department has intensified its field awareness efforts in the various camping areas to raise awareness to maintain public cleanliness And adherence to the hygiene law, reducing waste dumping rates in places not designated for it, as well as intensifying the role of public cleanliness inspectors to take the necessary legal measures against violators, in order to strengthen the ministry’s great efforts to maintain the cleanliness of public facilities in the country.
After the season ends, he called on the campers to remove all existing waste, and not leave any traces of camping, to avoid punishment, pointing to the high awareness this season and the decrease of waste on the beaches compared to the past seasons, which confirms the success of the awareness role that the Ministry plays in raising the awareness of the campers of the importance of preserving the environment and not to harm it by throwing waste.
He said: The ministry is working on cleaning the various beaches in the country on a daily and continuous basis, distributing containers adequately on the beaches and camping areas, and implementing awareness campaigns by distributing bags for waste and publishing advertisements and instructions, with the aim of keeping the country’s beaches clean and beautiful.
He stressed that the Public Cleanliness Department represented by the Beaches and Islands Department monitors beaches on a daily basis, monitors any waste to deal with, and pulls it out by the established methods for disposal and sends it to the waste collection stations. He explained that Law No. 18 of 2017 regarding public hygiene punishes the violation of throwing or leaving food waste in parks, beaches and other public facilities, calling on the visitors of these places to safely and properly dispose of the waste in the containers designated for that.
He said that most of the wastes that are monitored on the beaches come from inside the sea which are wastes dumped by ships and with the movement of the waves they reach the shores directly, as many plastic containers, wood and some dead animals were monitored, which are removed with equipment and mechanisms that are equipped, and then It is transferred to the waste treatment center, and as for the frozen oil waste, it is dealt with by a specialized team in coordination with the relevant authorities to remove and dispose of it in a safe manner.
He added: The ministry pays great attention to cleanliness of beaches, as they are important recreational sites and a front for the state, as the ministry has provided all human and material capabilities to ensure the cleanliness of beaches around the clock. He pointed to the use of specialized equipment and mechanisms to remove all debris from the beach of all kinds, whether small or large, by installing nets under it, which would facilitate the process of sweeping the beach faster.

أطلقت وزارة البلدية والبيئة مُمثلة بإدارة النظافة العامة حملة نظافة شاملة للشواطئ الشمالية الغربية للدولة من مدينة أبوظلوف وحتى زكريت بطول يصل لأكثر من (150) كيلومترًا، وتستمر الحملة لمدة شهرين مُتتاليين، سيتم خلالها رفع وإزالة أطنان من المخلفات المُتنوعة وعدد من الحيوانات النافقة، ومن المتوقع إزالة ما يقرب من 70 إلى 150 طنًا من المُخلفات المتنوعة خلال الحملة التي تستمر خلال جدول زمني مُحدد من بداية ديسمبر وحتى نهاية يناير. وأوضح محمد فرج الكبيسي مساعد مدير إدارة النظافة العامة بوزارة البلدية والبيئة، أنه تم توزيع العمل خلال الحملة على ثلاث مراحل تبدأ بتنظيف الشواطئ من منطقة العريش وشواطئها بطول 29 كيلومترًا، ثم تنظيف الشواطئ المُمتدة من منطقة أم حيش بطول 70 كيلومترًا، وبعدها تنظيف الشواطئ الممتدة من منطقة خوزان حتى منطقة زكريت بطول 80 كيلومترًا، وأكد بأن مثل هذه البرامج الخاصة بتنظيف الشواطئ تشمل جميع المناطق بالدولة، وجار العمل على تنفيذها بشكل انسيابي بحيث لا تؤثر مثل هذه الأعمال على برامج العمل اليومية، حيث تم وضع خطة تنفيذ البرنامج وفقًا لأولويات الشواطئ. وقال في تصريحات خاصة ل الراية: تقوم إدارة النظافة العامة بالتنسيق مع مختلف الجهات لانتشال المخلفات بشكل فوري، وإرسال فريق متكامل للانتهاء من أعمال النظافة وسط مخطط لتنظيم عملية النظافة في مختلف مناطق البلاد، موضحًا تكثيف إدارة النظافة العامة جهودها التوعوية الميدانية في مُختلف مناطق التخييم لرفع حالة الوعي للمحافظة على النظافة العامة والالتزام بقانون النظافة، وخفض معدلات إلقاء المخلفات في الأماكن غير المُخصّصة لها فضلًا عن تكثيف دور المُراقبين من مفتشي النظافة العامة لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة في حق المخالفين، من أجل تعزيز الجهود الكبيرة التي تقوم بها الوزارة للحفاظ على نظافة المرافق العامة بالدولة. وطالب المُخيمين بعد انتهاء الموسم برفع كافة المخلفات الموجودة، وعدم ترك أي آثار للتخييم، لعدم التعرض للعقوبة، لافتًا إلى ارتفاع الوعي هذا الموسم وانخفاض المخلفات على الشواطئ مقارنة بالمواسم الماضية مما يؤكد نجاح الدور التوعوي التي تقوم به الوزارة في رفع وعي المخيمين بأهمية المحافظة على البيئة وعدم الإضرار بها بإلقاء المخلفات.
وقال: الوزارة تعمل على تنظيف مختلف الشواطئ بالدولة بشكل يومي ومستمر، وتوزيع الحاويات بشكل كافٍ على الشواطئ ومناطق التخييم، وتنفيذ الحملات التوعوية من خلال توزيع الأكياس المخصصة للنفايات ونشر الإعلانات والإرشادات، بهدف الحفاظ على شواطئ البلاد نظيفة وجميلة.
وأكد أن إدارة النظافة العامة مُتمثلة بقسم الشواطئ والجزر تقوم بمتابعة الشواطئ بشكل يومي ورصد أي مخلفات للتعامل معها وانتشالها بالطرق المتبعة للتخلص منها وإرسالها إلى محطات جمع النفايات. وأوضح أن القانون رقم 18 لسنة 2017 بشأن النظافة العامة يُعاقب على مخالفة إلقاء أو ترك مُخلفات الطعام في الحدائق والشواطئ وغيرها من المرافق العامة، مطالبًا رواد هذه الأماكن بالتخلص الآمن والسليم من النفايات بالحاويات المخصصة لذلك. وقال إن أغلب المُخلفات التي يتم رصدها على الشواطئ تأتي من داخل البحر، وتكون عبارة عن مخلفات تلقيها السفن ومع حركة الأمواج تصل إلى الشواطئ بشكل مباشر، حيث تم رصد العديد من العبوات البلاستيكية والأخشاب وبعض الحيوانات النافقة والتي يتم رفعها بمعدات وآليات تكون مجهزة، ومن ثم ترحيلها إلى مركز معالجة النفايات، وبالنسبة لمخلفات الزيوت المتجمدة يتم التعامل معها من قبل فريق مُتخصص بالتنسيق مع الجهات ذات العلاقة لرفعها والتخلص منها بطريقة آمنة.
وأضاف: إن الوزارة تولي اهتمامًا كبيرًا بنظافة الشواطئ باعتبارها مواقع ترويحية وهامة وواجهة للدولة، حيث إن الوزارة قد وفرت جميع الإمكانيات البشرية والمادية لضمان نظافة الشواطئ على مدار الساعة. ولفت إلى استخدام معدات وآليات مُتخصصة لرفع كافة المخلفات من على الشاطئ بجميع أنواعها سواء مخلفات صغيرة أو كبيرة عن طريق تركيب شباك أسفله، مما يُسهّل من عملية تمشيط الشاطئ بشكل أسرع.
