Doha: A recent study revealed that LED lights kill the Coronavirus in just 30 seconds and can sterilize rooms at affordable prices by integrating them into air conditioning systems.
The British newspaper “Daily Mail” quoted scientists as saying that LED lamps that emit ultraviolet light can kill coronaviruses and can be integrated into air conditioning systems to sterilize rooms.
According to the study, ultraviolet rays kill coronaviruses, including the virus that causes Covid-19, but according to “The Daily Mail”, this is the first study of its kind that shows that the ultraviolet rays emitted from LED lights are also effective.

The researchers studied the effectiveness of two waves of light in killing the coronavirus that causes the current epidemic.
They found that 265 nanometers of light waves were most effective at killing the virus, but the lamps with a wavelength of 285 nanometers, which are more readily available, were nearly as effective.
In less than 30 seconds, 285nm light is able to destroy 99.9% of all viral pathogens, according to the study published in the Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology.
The researchers hope the results will mean that UV LEDs can be incorporated into pre-existing devices and services, such as air conditioning, brooms and water systems, to disinfect them.
Dynamics, a US-based electronics company, revealed a coronavirus killing machine that absorbs germs and detonates them with high-intensity ultraviolet light.
This technology, called nano-wave, is able to eliminate 99 % of the virus in less than two thousandth of a second.
