Station to Monitor Air Quality Moved to Al Rayyan Stadium ahead of Amir Cup Final

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the Department of Monitoring and Environmental Laboratory of the Environmental Affairs Sector, has moved the mobile station dedicated to monitoring ambient air quality to Al Rayyan Stadium, in preparation for the final match of the HH the Amir Cup 2020 which will bring together Al Sadd with Al Arabi on Friday.

A technical team from the Department, in coordination with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, studied the available places and chose a suitable site for monitoring air quality in accordance with the international standards. The event coincided with the inauguration of Al Rayyan Stadium.

The State of Qatar is among the first countries to pay a great attention to preserving and sustaining the environment in general, and monitoring and measuring air quality in particular, through its Second National Strategy projects which included managing air quality through a national network, and ensuring the maintaining the quality of air in the country and the areas surrounding the stadiums and sports activities venues.

The efforts reflect the great State’s interest in ensuring air quality in accordance with the highest international standards, which in turn has a significant role in raising the awareness of the public on the importance of preserving the environment and its sustainability. The efforts also represent a live experiment in preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2022.

الدوحة: قامت وزارة البلدية والبيئة ممثلة بإدارة الرصد والمختبر البيئي التابع لقطاع شؤون البيئة، بنقل المحطة المتنقلة المخصصة لرصد جودة الهواء المحيط إلى /إستاد الريان الدولي/، استعداداً للمباراة النهائية لبطولة كأس سمو الأمير المفدى 2020 لكرة القدم التي تجمع السد مع العربي يوم /الجمعة/ المقبل .

وقام فريق فني من الإدارة بالتنسيق مع اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والارث لدراسة الأماكن المتاحة واختيار موقع مناسب لرصد جودة الهواء وفق المعايير العالمية، وقد تزامن هذا الحدث مع تدشين استاد الريان الدولي.

وتعد دولة قطر من أوائل الدول التي أولت اهتماماً كبيراً في الحفاظ على البيئة واستدامتها بشكل عام وبرصد وقياس جودة الهواء بشكل خاص من خلال مشاريع الاستراتيجية الوطنية الثانية لدولة قطر، والتي تضمنت إدارة جودة الهواء من خلال شبكة وطنية وضمان المحافظة على جودة الهواء في الدولة وضمن المناطق المحيطة بالملاعب ومناطق الأنشطة الرياضية.

وتعكس هذه الجهود اهتمام الدولة الكبير بضمان جودة الهواء وفق أعلى المعايير العالمية، ودور ذلك في توعية الجمهور بأهمية الحفاظ على بيئة الدولة واستدامتها وتحسين جودة الهواء المحيط وكتجربة حية استعداداً لكأس العالم لكرة القدم FIFA 2022.
