Doha: Dr. Abdul-Wahab Al-Musleh, Advisor to the Minister of Public Health for Sports and Emergency Affairs, explained the expected date of arrival of the first batch of the Coronavirus “Covid-19” vaccine to Qatar, and the groups that will have priority and the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Dr. Al-Musleh said during Al Majlis program on Al-Kass channel on Sunday evening: The demand is much more higher than the offer in the world, but Qatar has guaranteed the purchase of vaccines for all people whether citizens or residents, God willing, but it will come gradually.
He added: The first batch will arrive before the end of this month and it will be given to the elderly and those with chronic diseases who are on the frontlines to confront Coronavirus and who deal every day with Coronavirus patients, and in January, February and March, it will gradually be given to the rest of the public, God willing.
About the dose and the effectiveness of the vaccine, Dr. Abdul-Wahab Al-Musleh said: The vaccine is comprised of two doses, the first vaccine to arrive is the Pfizer vaccine, it is given in two doses, 3 weeks apart.
In response to a question about whether vaccination will be optional or compulsory?
Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Musleh said: There is nothing compulsory with regard to vaccines anywhere in the world, but in many countries and Qatar there are requirements from some parties to have vaccinations, for example I expect that you won’t be able to enter stadiums until after getting the vaccine, and travel as well, adding: Until now the evidence shows that the vaccine will be effective for 9 months at least and could be for more, but until now the results of the vaccines have not appeared very much and they are recent, but they will be effective, God willing.

الدوحة: أوضح الدكتورعبدالوهاب المصلح مستشار وزيرة الصحة العامة لشؤون الرياضة والطوارئ الموعد المتوقع لوصول أول دفعة من لقاح فيروس كورونا “كوفيد – 19” إلى قطر والفئات التي ستكون لها الأولوية ومدة فاعلية اللقاح.
وقال الدكتور المصلح خلال برنامج المجلس على قناة الكاس مساء أمس الأحد: إن الطلب أكثر بكثير من العرض الموجود في العالم، لكن قطر ضمنت شراء لقاحات لكل الشعب إن شاء الله لكن ستأتي بالتدريج.
وأضاف: أول دفعة ستأتي قبل نهاية هذا الشهر وتُعطى لكبار السن وأصحاب الأمراض المزمنة والموجودين في الخطوط الأولى لمواجهة كورونا الذين يتعاملون كل يوم مع مرضى كورونا.. وفي يناير وفبراير ومارس سيتم بالتدريج إعطاؤه لبقية الجمهور بإذن الله.
وحول الجرعة ومدة فاعلية اللقاح، قال الدكتور عبدالوهاب المصلح: اللقاح جرعتان، اللقاح الأولي الذي سيأتي هو لقاح فايزر.. يتم إعطاؤه على جرعتين بينهما ٣ أسابيع.
ورداً على سؤال يتعلق بهل التلقيح سيكون اختيارياً أم إجبارياً؟، قال الدكتور عبدالوهاب المصلح: لا يوجد شيء إجباري بالنسبة للقاحات في أي مكان في العالم، لكن كثيرا من الدول وقطر منها تكون هناك اشتراطات من بعض الجهات أن يكون عندك لقاحات، مثلاً الملاعب أتوقع لن تستطيع الدخول إلا بعد أخذ اللقاح.. والسفر أيضاً، مضيفاً: إلى الآن الدلائل تُبين أنه على الأقل اللقاح سيكون فعالاً لمدة 9 أشهر وقد يكون أكثر، لكن إلى الآن نتائج اللقاحات لم تظهر بشكل كبير جداً وهي حديثة لكنها ستكون فعالة بإذن الله.
