6 dead during Pfizer’s Coronavirus vaccine trials

Doha: Six people died during trials of a coronavirus vaccine developed by U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer and Germany’s BioNtech, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a report released Wednesday.

The report explained in detail that four of the six deceased received a fictitious drug, and two were vaccinated with the real drug, according to Russia Today.

It was also announced that one of the participants in the group of participants in the vaccine tests had obesity and atherosclerosis, died three days after taking the first dose of the drug and the second volunteer who died of a heart attack 60 days after the second dose.

Of the participants who received the placebo, two died of a heart attack and stroke, while two others are being examined for the cause of death, and of the six deceased, there are 3 over the age of 55.

A total of about 38,000 people over the age of 16 took part in the tests.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration had earlier confirmed the effectiveness of Pfizer and BioNtech vaccine, and the documents said the drug showed an appropriate level of safety, and there were no obstacles to its use in emergencies.

الدوحة: كشفت إدارة الغذاء والدواء الأمريكية في تقرير أصدرته اليوم الأربعاء، أن 6 أشخاص توفوا خلال تجارب لقاح لفيروس كورونا طورته شركة الأدوية الأمريكية فايزر وشركة بيونتك الألمانية..

التقرير أوضح  في التفاصيل بأن أربعة من المتوفين الستة تلقوا عقارا وهميا، ولُقح اثنان بالعقار الحقيقي بحسب موقع روسيا اليوم.

كما أعلن عن إصابة أحد المشاركين في مجموعة المشاركين في اختبارات اللقاح بالسمنة وتصلب الشرايين، وتوفي بعد ثلاثة أيام من تناول الجرعة الأولى من العقار وأصيب المتطوع الثاني المتوفى بسكتة قلبية بعد 60 يوما من الجرعة الثانية.

وتوفى من بين المشاركين الذين تلقوا اللقاح الوهمي، اثنان نتيجة نوبة قلبية وسكتة دماغية، فيما يجري تحديد سبب وفاة شخصين آخرين،ومن بين المتوفين الستة، ثلاثة تجاوزت أعمارهم 55 عاما.

وشارك في المجموع حوالي 38 ألف شخص فوق سن 16 عاما في هذه الاختبارات.

وكانت إدارة الغذاء والدواء الأمريكية أكدت في وقت سابق فعالية لقاح فايزر وبيونتك، وقالت الوثائق إن العقار أظهر مستوى مناسبا من الأمان، ولا توجد عقبات أمام استخدامه في حالات الطوارئ.
