MME Organizes Recycling Workshop in buildings, Roads, Construction Materials

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the scientific research team, organized on Wednesday a workshop on the use of recycled stones in buildings, roads and the manufacture of construction materials.

The workshop aimed to enhance the integration of efforts around the application of scientific research results related to the utilization of construction waste in Rawdat Rashid, which is estimated at more than 40 million tons, and to convert it into recycled stones and sands for use in building projects, roads and the manufacture of construction materials. The workshop also focused on technical and scientific methods to use the of waste in construction, while presenting the approved national and international technical specifications, field and laboratory experiments, and discussing the technical issues related.

The workshop was attended by officials and specialists from the Ministry, the infrastructure research center, Qatar Primary Materials Co (QPMC), Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and a group of related contractors and consultants.

Assistant Undersecretary and Director of the Environmental and Municipal Studies Institute at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Saif Al Kuwari confirmed that the workshop focused on the use and exploitation of recycled materials such as stones, sand, etc., which are located in Rawdat Rashid, in construction industries such as bricks, interlocks, tiles, concrete units, etc. Dr. Eng. Al Kuwari added that it was agreed during the workshop that there would be future bilateral or group meetings between companies specialized in recycling construction waste and converting them into stones and sand and the scientific research team, expressing the team’s full readiness to provide scientific and technical advice to any company working in this field, and to organize training courses on how to use these stones, in buildings, roads and infrastructure.

Dr. Eng. Al Kuwari pointed out that the scientific research team presented to the companies during this workshop a summary of the experiences and technical expertise obtained since its inception, by showing a presentation related to the recycling of construction waste with an indication of the strength and quality of the test rooms and the test method that was carried out five years ago and these facilities are still It is characterized by high quality, strength and durability with time.

Dr. Eng. Al Kuwari also affirmed that the ministry is seeking to exert efforts and cooperate with the private sector in order to exchange experiences in this field, as well as the ministry’s keenness to promote scientific research in a way that serves Qatar National Vision 2030.

الدوحة: نظمت وزارة البلدية والبيئة ممثلة بفريق البحث العلمي، يوم الأمس ورشة عمل حول استخدام الأحجار المعاد تدويرها في المباني والطرق وصناعة المواد الإنشائية.

وهدفت الورشة لتعزيز تكامل الجهود حول تطبيق نتائج البحث العلمي الخاصة بالاستفادة من المخلفات الإنشائية في روضة راشد والتي تقدر بأكثر من 40 مليون طن وتحويلها إلى أحجار ورمال معاد تدويرها واستخدامها في مشاريع المباني والطرق وصناعة المواد الإنشائية.

كما ركزت على الطرق والأساليب الفنية والعلمية لاستغلال المخلفات الإنشائية في الإنشاءات، مع عرض المواصفات الفنية الوطنية والدولية المعتمدة والتجارب الميدانية والمخبرية، ومناقشة الأمور الفنية ذات العلاقة.

شارك في الورشة، مسؤولون ومتخصصون من الوزارة ومركز أبحاث البنية التحية وشركة قطر للمواد الأولية والصندوق القطري لرعاية البحث العلمي، وهيئة الأشغال العامة /أشغال/ ومجموعة من المقاولين والاستشاريين من ذوي العلاقة.

وفي هذا الإطار أكد الدكتور مهندس محمد سيف الكواري رئيس فريق البحث العلمي بوزارة البلدية والبيئة، أن ورشة العمل ركزت على استخدام واستغلال المواد المعاد تدويرها مثل الأحجار والرمال وغيرها، والموجودة في روضة راشد، في الصناعات الإنشائية مثل الطابوق والانترلوك والبلاط والوحدات الخرسانية غيرها.

وأضاف أنه تم الاتفاق خلال الورشة على أن تكون هناك اجتماعات مستقبلية ثنائية أو جماعية بين الشركات المختصة بتدوير المخلفات الإنشائية وتحويلها لأحجار ورمال وبين فريق البحث العلمي، مبديا استعداد الفريق التام لتقديم الاستشارات العلمية والفنية لأي شركة تعمل بهذا المجال، وتنظيم دورات تدريبية لكيفية استخدام هذه الأحجار في المباني والطرق والبنية التحتية.

وأشار إلى أن فريق البحث العلمي قدم للشركات خلال هذه الورشة خلاصة التجارب والخبرات الفنية والتقنية التي حصل عليها منذ إنشائه، وذلك من خلال تقديم عرض تقديمي يتعلق بتدوير المخلفات الإنشائية مع بيان قوة وجودة الحجرات الاختبارية والطريق الاختباري الذي تم تنفيذهما منذ خمس سنوات وما زالت هذه المنشآت تتصف بالجودة العالية والقوة والمتانة مع الزمن.

وأكد الكواري سعي الوزارة لبذل الجهود والتعاون مع القطاع الخاص بهدف تبادل الخبرات بهذا المجال وكذلك حرص الوزارة على تعزيز البحث العلمي بما يخدم رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.
