New decision regarding high school exams for students infected with Covid-19 and those in contact: Ministry

Doha: Eman Salman Al-Mohannadi, Assistant Director of the Student Assessment Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education revealed that the ministry has introduced a new procedure regarding high school examinations for students infected with Coronavirus “Covid-19” or those in contact.

She said during the Doha Evening program on Qatar Radio yesterday, Tuesday, in response to a question about the current status of the end-of-semester exam schedule: The end-of-semester exams began on November 30^th with grade 12 transfer from grades one to eleven began on December 2^nd and exams will continue until December 16^th.

She added: Preparing the schedule took a long time according to certain pillars, including the number of subjects that the student studies in each stage, the absorptive capacity of the schools and the precautionary measures. We have allocated a schedule for each stage and in each stage there are specific schedules for specific classes so that students of the school do not attend on the same day in order to preserve their health and in compliance with the ‘precautionary measures’.

And regarding the precautionary measures that are implemented from the time the student arrives at the school and enters the exam hall until his/her departure, She explained that a previous meeting was held with the principals through the “Microsoft Team” platform, and all the precautionary measures that must be followed were explained, starting with placing posters for students on the floors and the indicative boards.

She said that when the students arrive at the school, their temperature is measured, any student suffering from certain symptoms is isolated from the rest of the students, but the rest of the students enter their committees while maintaining spacing, wearing masks and sterilizing hands after completing the exams, noting that students know the precautionary measures because they went through it at the end of last year, the procedures are not new, but we reminded principals and students of them through all available means.

If the student was in contact, or his family was infected, or the student’s temperature was high and did not submit to the tests, what is the procedure that is taken with the student or how is he compensated?

The Assistant Director of the Student Assessment Department said: For students who attend to school, and God forbid they have symptoms (infection with the Coronavirus) or contacts, we ask them not to be in the school and for the student’s guardian to come to the school and take him to the nearest health center to be examined, and if he is healthy, he will enroll to continue the rest of his exams the next day.

And she continued: Students who have had contact or who have tested positive will be offered tests, whether students from the first to the eleventh grade, there are supplementary tests, which will be given to them after the mid-year break.

She added: A decision was issued today that grade 12 students after the mid-year break will sit for supplementary examinations, grade 12 policy was completely different. In a Compulsive way. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education introduced a new procedure that 12th-grade students will submit a “follow-up” next January.

Regarding the most important tasks of the Student Assessment Department, she explained that the Assessment Department is the department responsible for all student evaluation work from the first to the 12^th grade, and it is also responsible for enacting evaluation policies and procedures for tests from setting tests to correcting and extracting certificates for all grades from first to 12^th. The administration is also responsible for submitting students to the international exams which the State of Qatar participates in according to each test and its course. The process of evaluating students in government and private schools that apply the standards is the full responsibility of the Student Assessment Department.

الدوحة: كشفت إيمان سلمان المهندي مساعد مدير إدارة تقييم الطلبة في وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي عن أن الوزارة استحدثت إجراءً جديداً بشأن اختبارات الثانوية العامة للطلبة المصابين بفيروس كورونا “كوفيد 19” أو المخالطين.

وقالت خلال برنامج مساء الدوحة على إذاعة قطر اليوم الثلاثاء رداً على سؤال بشأن الوضع الحالي لجدول اختبارات نهاية الفصل الدراسي الأول؟ إن اختبارات نهاية الفصل الدراسي الأول بدأت في 30 نوفمبر مع الصف الـ12، والنقل من الصف الأول وحتى الحادي عشر بدأت في 2 ديسمبر وأن الاختبارات ستستمر حتى 16 ديسمبر.

وأضافت: إعداد الجدول أخذ وقتاً طويلاً وفق ركائز معينة منها عدد المواد التي يدرسها الطالب في كل مرحلة والطاقة الاستيعابية للمدارس والاجراءات الاحترازية…. قمنا بتخصيص جدول لكل مرحلة وفي كل مرحلة جداول مخصصة لصفوف معينة حتى لا يحضر طلبة المدرسة في نفس اليوم حفاظاً على صحتهم واتباعاً لل‘جراءات الاحترازية..

وحول الإجراءات الاحترازية التي يتم العمل بها منذ وصول الطالب إلى المدرسة ودخوله قاعة الاختبارات حتى مغادرته؟ أوضحت أنه تم عقد لقاء سابق مع المدراء من خلال برنامج “ميكروسوفت تيم” وتم شرح جميع الإجراءات الاحترازية التي يجب اتباعها بدءاً بوضع الملصقات للطلبة على الأرضيات واللوحات الإرشادية.

وقالت إن الطلبة يصلون إلى المدرسة ويتم قياس درجة حرارتهم وتطبيق احتراز أي طالب يعاني من أعراض معينة يتم عزله عن بقية الطلبة لكن بقية الطلبة يدخلون إلى لجانهم مع المحفاظة على التباعد وارتداء الكمامات وتعقيم اليدين بعد الانتهاء من الاختبارات، مشيرة إلى أن الطلبة يعرفون الإجراءات الاحترازية لأنهم مروا بها نهاية العام الماضي.. الإجراءات ليست جديدة ولكن ذكّرنا بها المدراء والطلبة من خلال جميع الوسائل المتاحة.

وفي حال كان الطالب مخالطاً أو أهله مصابين أو أن درجة حرارة الطالب عالية ولم يقدم للاختبارات فما هو الإجراء الذي يتم اتخاذه مع الطالب أو كيف يتم تعويضه؟

قالت مساعد مدير إدارة تقييم الطلبة: بالنسبة للطلبة الذين يحضرون إلى المدرسة، ولا قدر الله لديهم أعراض (الإصابة بفيروس كورونا) أو مخالطين نطلب منهم عدم التواجد في المدرسة وأن يحضر ولي أمر الطالب إلى المدرسة ويأخذه إلى أقرب مركز صحي ويتم فحصه وإذا كان سليماً ممكن من اليوم التالي يلتحق ببقية الاختبارات..

وتابعت: الطلبة المخالطون أو الذين ثبتت إصابتهم ستقدم لهم اختبارات سواء الطلبة من الأول حتى الحادي عشر، هناك اختبارات ملحق، سوف تقدم لهم بعد إجازة منتصف العام..

وأضافت: صدر اليوم قراراً بأن طلبة الثاني عشر بعد إجازة منتصف العام سوف يتقدمون لاختبارات ملحق.. سياسة الثاني عشر كانت مختلفة تماماً كان الطالب الذي يتغيب حتى بعذر طبي في منتصف العام يترحل إلى الدور الثاني لكن مراعاة للطلبة في الوضع الحالي وفي ظل الجائحة وهي ظروف قهرية.. استحدثت وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي إجراءً جديداً بأن طلبة الصف الـ12 سوف يقدمون “ملحق” في يناير القادم.

وحول أهم مهام إدارة تقييم الطلبة، أوضحت أن إدارة التقييم هي الإدارة المنوطة بجميع أعمال تقييم الطلبة في الصفوف من الأولى وحتى الـ12، وهي مسؤولة أيضاً عن سن السياسات الخاصة بالتقييم والإجراءات الخاصة بالاختبارات من وضع الاختبارات إلى عمليات التصحيح واستخراج الشهادات لجميع الصفوف من الأول وحتى الـ12، وأيضاً الإدارة مسؤولة عن تقديم الطلبة للاختبارات الدولية التي تشارك فيها دولة قطر حسب كل اختبار ودورته.. عملية تقييم الطلبة في المدارس الحكومية والمدارس الخاصة التي تُطبق المعايير هي مسؤولية إدارة تقييم الطلبة بالكامل.
