[Updated]: Top 10 most dangerous tourist destinations by U.S. rankings

The list of “high-risk” tourist destinations for the Covid-19 outbreak, according to the U.S. rankings, has added four new countries, including the largest country in the world in terms of area.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and prevention (CDC) has added Russia (the largest country by area: 17 million square kilometers), Belgium, Burkina Faso and Slovakia to level four on the list of “high-risk” tourist destinations in terms of this week’s Covid-19 outbreak, CNN reported.

Countries with more than 500 cases of infection among 100,000 residents in the last 28 days, according to the U.S. Centers For Disease Control and Prevention standards, are at very high risk of Covid-19 outbreak.

The Agency recommends avoiding travel to the destinations referred to in the “Level 4” list. It advises those who wish to visit these countries to receive their vaccine in full.

** The list of tourist destinations still on the fourth level of the Covid-19 high-risk list according to the U.S. classification on November 1st includes 80 countries, including: Austria, Croatia, Greece, Ireland, Maldives, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Barbados and Botswana.

The “level 3” list of the Covid-19 high-risk list, which includes countries that recorded between 100 and 500 cases among every 100,000 residents, was updated in the last 28 days, as Fiji and Jamaica (which were listed in level 4), Laos and Poland (were at the second “moderate risk” level) were added, indicating a rise in recorded cases.

Laos was previously placed on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s list of the “unknown” category due to the lack of information about it.

CNN-certified medical analyst Dr. Liana Wynne, an emergency physician and professor of health policy and management at George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health, said there are many factors that travelers need to consider, as well as weekly updated Covid-19 infection rates by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Transmission rates are one of the categorizing indications. The second indicator relates to the commitment to the required preventive measures in the country to which travellers are travelling, and the third relates to what they plan to do upon arrival,” she said, stressing that travellers must receive their vaccine in full.

وتقع الدول التي سُجّل لديها أكثر من 500 إصابة بين 100 ألف مقيم في الأيام الـ28 الأخيرة، وفقًا لمعايير المراكز الأمريكية لمكافحة الأمراض والوقاية منها، في خانة الخطر الكبير جداً” لجهة تفشي “كوفيد-19”.

وتُوصي الوكالة بتجنب السفر إلى الوجهات السياحية المشار إليها ضمن لائحة “المستوى الرابع”. وتنصح من يرغب بزيارتها، بأن يكون تلقّى لقاحه بالكامل.

** وتضم قائمة الوجهات السياحية التي ما زالت ضمن لائحة المستوى الرابع لتفشي كورونان بحسب التصنيف الأمريكي بتاريخ 1 نوفمبر، 80 دولة بينها: النمسا كرواتيا واليونان وإيرلندا والمالديف وسويسرا وتايلاند وتركيا والمملكة المتحدة وباربادوس وبوتسوانا.

وتمّ تحديث لائحة الفئة الثالثة لتفشي كورونا، والتي تضمّ الدول التي سجّلت بين 100 و500 إصابة بين كل 100 ألف مقيم، في الأيام الـ28 الأخيرة، حيث أُضيفت فيجي وجامايكا (كانتا في المستوى الرابع) ولاوس وبولندا (كانت في المستوى الثاني “المعتدل الخطورة”)، ما يشير إلى ارتفاع حالات الإصابة المسجّلة لديها، فيما وُضعت لاوس سابقًا ضمن لائحة المراكز الأمريكية لمكافحة الأمراض والسيطرة عليها الخاصة بالفئة “المجهولة” لعدم توافر المعلومات حولها.

وأوضحت المحلّلة الطبية المعتمدة من قبل CNN، الدكتورة ليانا وين، وهي طبيبة طوارئ وأستاذة السياسات الصحية وإدارتها في كلية معهد ميلكن للصحة العامة في جامعة جورج واشنطن، أنّ هناك العديد من العوامل التي على المسافرين أخذها بالاعتبار، بالإضافة إلى معدلات الإصابة بـ”كوفيد-19″ المحدّثة من قبل مراكز مكافحة الأمراض والوقاية منها، أسبوعياً.

وبيّنت أن “معدلات انتقال العدوى هي أحد الأدلة. أمّا المؤشر الثاني فيتعلّق بالالتزام بالتدابير الوقائية المطلوبة والمتبعة في الدولة التي يقصدها المسافرون، والثالث يرتبط بما يخططون القيام به عند وصولهم”، مؤكدة أن على المسافر أن يتلقى اللقاح بالكامل.
