Apple will replace unresponsive iPhone 11 screens for free

Doha: Apple announced a new replacement program, to repair the touch screens of “iPhone 11” for free.

The American technology giant said – according to the specialized technical site, Engadget – that a small percentage of iPhone 11 phones were affected by touch screen problems, specifically in the touch response technology, and Apple will exchange these screens for free as part of a new replacement program.

Apple has admitted that some iPhone 11 screens manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020 may have become unresponsive due to a problem with the display unit.

Apple did not explain exactly why the screen stopped responding, but it asked users who have touch screens affected by this problem to verify the serial number of their phones on Apple’s support page to see if they qualify for a free replacement, stressing that only the iPhone 11 models manufactured in the period from November 2019 to May 2020 are going to be covered by the program.

Apple added that other models, including the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, will not be included in the program, as users can check Apple’s support site.

“The affected phone owners must find an authorized Apple service provider, and make an appointment at one of the Apple retails stores, or if they are unable to leave their homes, they can contact Apple Support and arrange mail service through the Apple Repair Center”. Apple added

Those who have already fixed their screens and paid for the repair can also get a refund, although they should have contacted Apple support.

الدوحة: أعلنت شركة “آبل” عن برنامج جديد، لاستبدال شاشات “آيفون 11” مجاناً.

وقالت عملاق التكنولوجيا الأمريكية – بحسب موقع “إنجادجيت” التقني المتخصص – إن نسبة صغيرة من هواتف آيفون 11 تأثرت بمشاكل في الشاشات، وتحديداً في تقنية الاستجابة للمس، وستقوم آبل بتبديل هذه الشاشات مجاناً كجزء من برنامج بديل جديد.

واعترفت آبل أن بعض شاشات آيفون 11 المصنعة بين نوفمبر 2019 ومايو 2020 قد تصبح غير مستجيبة بسبب مشكلة في وحدة العرض.

ولم توضح آبل سبب توقف الشاشة عن الاستجابة بالضبط، ولكنها تطلب من المستخدمين الذين لديهم شاشات متأثرة بهذه المشكلة التحقق من الرقم التسلسلي لهواتفهم على صفحة دعم آبل لمعرفة ما إذا كانوا مؤهلين للاستبدال المجاني، مشددة على أن طرازات آيفون 11 المصنعة في فترة نوفمبر 2019 وحتى مايو 2020 هي التي سيشملها البرنامج .

وأضافت آبل أن الموديلات الأخرى، بما في ذلك آيفون 11 برو، وآيفون 11 برو ماكس، لن تكون مشمولة في البرنامج، حيث يمكن للمستخدمين التحقق من موقع دعم آبل.

وأضافت أنه على ملاك الهواتف المتأثرة العثور على مقدم خدمة آبل المعتمد، وتحديد موعد في أحد متاجر آبل للبيع بالتجزئة، أو إذا لم يتمكنوا من مغادرة المنزل، يمكنهم الاتصال بدعم آبل وترتيب خدمة البريد عبر مركز إصلاح آبل.

كما يمكن أيضًا لأولئك الذين قاموا بإصلاح شاشاتهم بالفعل ودفعوا مقابل الإصلاح،  استرداد أموالهم، على الرغم من أنه كان يتعين عليهم التحدث إلى الدعم.
