Los Angeles: Julian’s auction house said that a pistol used by the late star Sean Connery in the first James Bond series was sold for $256,000 at an auction in Beverly Hills, noting that the price exceeded previous estimations for this famous piece in cinematic history.
Scenes in which the Walther BP semi-automatic pistol and the smaller BPK model are shown have become one of the most famous scenes in the popular series of films.
Connery used it in the movie Doctor No in 1962. Connery, who was the first to cast the James Bond character, passed away on October 31 at the age of 90. Julian’s said that the buyer, who requested anonymity, was an American who had watched all of the James Bond films with his children. The auction house had previously estimated the pistol to be between $150,000 and $200,000.
