CCQ recognises outstanding academic achievement for Fall Semester

Doha: The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) has recognised the academic merits of 212 outstanding students on the honorary Dean’s List and the Honor’s List for the Fall Semester of 2018 in a ceremony held on February 27.

The event was attended by CCQ President Dr Mohamed Al Naemi and the Dean of CCQ, Dr Abdallah Hazaimeh, as well as close family of the students.

CCQ’s recognition of distinguished scholastic achievements reflects its ongoing pursuit of academic excellence and the nurturing of the talents and skills of its students across a diverse range of areas that contribute to enriching their learning environment, in line with the College’s student-centred approach to education.

Speaking after the ceremony, Dr Hazaimeh said: “At CCQ, our main aim is to empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their academic and professional endeavours, as well as to effectively contribute to the development of their community and the prosperity of Qatar.”

Dr Hazaimeh said that an important way to achieve that is by fostering a culture of excellence among the college community and honouring students who demonstrate that they are not only on the right path to success, but are pushing boundaries and doing their best to excel at what they do.

The distinguished group of students shared their experiences at CCQ and what it means to them to be recognised for their hard work.

Abdulhakim Ahmed Al Yazidi, currently enrolled in the Associate of Arts in Public Administration program, achieved a Fall Semester GPA of 4.0.

“My learning experience at CCQ has been compelling, and has propelled me to fully engage in my studies and diligently pursue all the research and learning activities in the academic program, with the help and guidance of our instructors. This is how I achieved my current GPA and it is why I feel really proud to be honored for my hard work and dedication to excellence,” said Al Yazidi.

Students on the Dean’s List were awarded certificates of distinction for maintaining a Grade Point Average (GPA) between 3.60 and 4.00 for Fall 2018, while students on the Honor’s List were recognized for maintaining a GPA between 3.35 and 3.59 for the semester.

The College’s Honors Program is designed to offer a more challenging and rewarding academic experience for its most educationally-driven students. In addition to their recognition at graduation and in their official records, students maintaining their places on the Honor’s Lists receive intensive faculty guidance and scholarships for further study, and enjoy priority for CCQ’s Study Abroad program.

نظمت كلية المجتمع في قطر، حفل تكريم 212 من الطلاب والطالبات المتميزين بقائمة العميد وقائمة الشرف للفصل الدراسي خريف 2018. حضر الحفل الدكتور محمد إبراهيم النعيمي رئيس الكلية، والدكتور عبدالله هزايمة عميد الكلية، وأولياء أمور وأسر الطلاب والطالبات المتفوقين.

ويأتي التفوق الذي حققه طلاب كلية المجتمع ليعكس سعي الكلية المتواصل إلى تحقيق التميز، وحرصها على صقل مواهب ومهارات طلابها مع تنوع اهتماماتهم وخبراتهم، الذي يسهم في إثراء البيئة التعليمية، وهو ما يُعد نتيجة لبرنامج التميز الذي صممته الكلية، بهدف توفير تجربة أكاديمية أكثر تحدياً وتحفيزاً للطلاب المتفوقين.

وقال الدكتور عبدالله هزايمة، عميد الكلية: «إن هدفنا الأساسي في كلية المجتمع هو تمكين الطلاب، من خلال تزويدهم بالعلم والمعرفة، وتسليحهم بالمهارات التي تؤهلهم للنجاح والتفوق في مسيرتهم الأكاديمية والمهنية، والإسهام بفعالية في تطوير المجتمع، وتحقيق الرخاء لدولة قطر، لذا نحرص على تعزيز ثقافة التميز بين منتسبي الكلية، وتكريم الطلاب المتفوقين في كل فصل دراسي، لخلق بيئة تعليمية تنافسية، وحث الطلاب والطالبات على بذل قصارى جهدهم في سبيل تحقيق التميز».

وعبر الطلاب عن سعادتهم بتكريم كلية المجتمع لهم، وتقديرها للجهود التي بذلوها لتحقيق التفوق، وقال عبد الحكيم أحمد اليزيدي، الطالب بدبلوم الإدارة العامة والحاصل على معدل فصلي 4.0: «إن تجربتي بكلية المجتمع متميزة وشيقة، فقد استفدت كثيراً من دراستي بالكلية، حيث حرصت على حضور جميع المحاضرات والمشاركة بفعالية في جميع الأنشطة التعليمية والبحثية بتوجيه ودعم من أساتذتي، ولعل ذلك هو أحد الأسباب الرئيسية التي ساعدتني على التفوق وتحقيق التميز بتوفيق من الله. أتطلع حالياً إلى استكمال دراستي ببرنامج بكالوريوس الإدارة العامة، لتطوير مهاراتي وخبراتي، ومواكبة التقدم السريع في هذا المجال نحو تحقيق أهداف رؤية قطر الوطنية».

وألقى حمد خلف الكعبي -الطالب ببكالوريوس الإدارة العامة، والحاصل على معدل فصلي 3.5- الضوء على العوامل التي ساعدته في التفوق، فقال: «لقد حرصت منذ التحاقي بالكلية على تنظيم وقتي والاستفادة منه على النحو الأمثل، وعلى المثابرة والجد في التحصيل العلمي، وأنا على يقين بأن تكريم الكلية لنا اليوم سيكون حافزاً لبذل المزيد من الجهد والاجتهاد، لتحقيق تطلعاتنا الأكاديمية والمهنية».

وقد تسلم الطلاب المتميزون بقائمة العميد شهادات تكريم، تقديراً لتفوقهم الأكاديمي، وتحقيقهم لمعدل فصلي يتراوح بين 3.60 و4.0، كما تم تكريم الطلاب المتميزين بقائمة الشرف لتفوقهم الأكاديمي بمعدل يتراوح بين 3.35 و3.59.
