Qatar Airways witnesses a week of achievements

Qatar Airways has wrapped up a fantastic week, concluding a successful appearance at the Paris Air Show 2019, the launch of inaugural flights to Davao, Philippines and Lisbon, Portugal plus breaking records at the 2019 Skytrax World Airline Awards and 2019 Passenger Experience Association’s (APEX) Passenger Choice Awards.
Qatar Airways swept up honours at the prestigious 2019 Skytrax World Airline Awards and 2019 Passenger APEX Passenger Choice Awards. The national airline of the State of Qatar took home a total of 11 Skytrax World Airline Awards, including ‘World’s Best Airline’ – becoming the only airline in the competition’s history to win it five times (2011, 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2019).
The airline was also named ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’ for a third successive year, and ‘World’s Best Business Class’ for a fourth year in succession.
Qatar Airways also set a new mark at the 2019 APEX Passenger Choice Awards, winning four out of six in the highly competitive Middle East category – an all-time record for a single airline in a region. The airline was named ‘Best Overall Carrier in the Middle East’, ‘Best Cabin Service in the Middle East’, ‘Best Food & Beverage in the Middle East’, and ‘Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East’.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are honoured to be globally recognised by our customers by winning these prestigious awards. Setting new records at two separate awards events is a landmark achievement and, is testament to the tireless efforts of the entire Qatar Airways team. It is a proud moment for the airline as our constant innovation and service standards set the benchmark in our industry.
“These standards and innovative thinking were on display at the Paris Air Show 2019 with our showcase of the ultra-modern Airbus A350-1000 alongside the state-of-the-art Gulfstream G500 and announcement of our order of five new Boeing 777 Freighters. During the same seven day period we also demonstrated our commitment to connecting people around the world, by launching two new exciting destinations; Davao, Philippines and Lisbon, Portugal.”
A multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Airline’ by the 2019 World Airline Awards, managed by international air transport rating organisation Skytrax. It was also named ‘World’s Best Airline in the Middle East’, ‘World’s Best Business Class’, ‘World’s Best Business Class Seat’, ‘Best First Class Lounge in the Middle East’, ‘Best Business Class Lounge in the Middle East’, ‘Best Cabin Crew in the Middle East’, ‘Best Economy Class in the Middle East’, ‘Best Business Class Catering in the Middle East’, ‘Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness in the Middle East’, and ‘Best Business Class in the Middle East’. Qatar Airways is the only airline to have been awarded the coveted “Skytrax Airline of the Year” title five times.
اختتمت الخطوط الجوية القطرية أسبوعاً رائعاً وحافلاً بالإنجازات والجوائز، بدءاً من مشاركتها في معرض باريس الجوي 2019 ووصول رحلاتها إلى دافاو في الفلبين ولشبونة في البرتغال، إلى حصدها الجوائز خلال حفل توزيع جوائز «سكاي تراكس» العالمية 2019 وجوائز خيارات المسافرين (أبيكس) 2019.
فازت الخطوط الجوية القطرية بـ11 جائزة مرموقة ضمن جوائز سكاي تراكس العالمية 2019، بما في ذلك جائزة «أفضل شركة طيران في العالم» للمرة الخامسة في تاريخها، لتحقق بذلك رقماً قياسياً من حيث عدد المرات التي تفوز بها بهذه الجائزة. وكانت القطرية قد فازت بهذه الجائزة في أعوام 2011 و2012 و2015 و2017.
كما نالت الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر جائزة «أفضل شركة طيران في الشرق الأوسط» للمرة الثالثة على التوالي، وجائزة «أفضل درجة رجال أعمال في العالم» للمرة الرابعة على التوالي.
أبيكس
وفازت الخطوط الجوية القطرية بأربع من بين ست جوائز خلال حفل توزيع جوائز خيارات المسافرين (أبيكس) 2019، وهو رقم قياسي من الجوائز تحققه إحدى شركات الطيران في منطقة الشرق الأوسط. وأحرزت الناقلة القطرية جوائز «أفضل شركة طيران شاملة في الشرق الأوسط»، و»أفضل خدمات الضيافة في الشرق الأوسط»، و»أفضل المأكولات والمشروبات في الشرق الأوسط»، و»أكثر المقاعد راحة في الشرق الأوسط».
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: «نفتخر بحصد هذه الجوائز التي يتم اختيار الفائزين بها من خلال تصويت المسافرين من شتى أنحاء العالم. إن تسجيل أرقام قياسية في مناسبتين مختلفتين خلال أسبوع واحد لتوزيع الجوائز يعد إنجازاً استثنائياً بلا شك، وشاهداً على الجهود الكبيرة التي يبذلها موظفونا لتقديم أفضل الخدمات لجميع المسافرين. ونفتخر بأن نكون رواداً للابتكار وإرساء معايير جديدة للخدمات المقدمة في قطاع الطيران عالمياً». وأضاف سعادة السيد الباكر: «إن هذه المعايير والابتكارات كانت محط أنظار الجميع خلال معرض باريس الجوي 2019 مع استعراضنا لطائرتنا الحديثة من طراز إيرباص A350-1000 وطائرة جلفستريم G500، والإعلان عن إبرام اتفاقية لشراء خمس طائرات شحن جوي جديدة من طراز بوينج 777. كما أننا أكدنا مرة أخرى حرصنا على إتاحة المزيد من خيارات السفر لمسافرينا حول العالم من خلال تدشين رحلاتنا إلى وجهتين جديدتين، وهما دافاو في الفلبين ولشبونة في البرتغال».

وحازت الخطوط الجوية القطرية على جائزة «أفضل شركة طيران في العالم» خلال حفل توزيع جوائز سكاي تراكس العالمية 2019. كما حصدت الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر الجوائز التالية: «أفضل شركة طيران في الشرق الأوسط»، و«أفضل درجة رجال أعمال في العالم»، و«أفضل مقعد على درجة رجال الأعمال» عن مقاعد كيو سويت، و«أفضل صالة انتظار لمسافري درجة رجال الأعمال في الشرق الأوسط»، و«أفضل صالة انتظار لمسافري الدرجة الأولى في الشرق الأوسط»، و«أفضل طاقم ضيافة في الشرق الأوسط»، و«أفضل درجة سياحية في الشرق الأوسط»، و«أفضل مأكولات على درجة رجال الأعمال في الشرق الأوسط»، و«أفضل نظافة مقصورة في الشرق الأوسط»، و«أفضل درجة رجال أعمال في الشرق الأوسط». وأصبحت الناقلة القطرية شركة الطيران الوحيدة التي تفوز بجائزة «أفضل شركة طيران في العالم» خمس مرات.
