Hamad International Airport’s Q3 Progress: A Closer Look

Doha: Hamad International Airport has maintained its performance through the third quarter (Q3) of 2023, reporting a substantial 26.84 percent increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period last year. This achievement builds upon a display of consistent growth, with a 44.5 percent increase in Q1 and a 24 percent increase in Q2.

During Q3, Hamad International Airport welcomed a total of 12,706,475 passengers with 4,305,391 passengers in July, 4,398,427 passengers in August and 4,002,657 passengers in September. The airport’s skies also bustled with activity as it reported 67,285 aircraft movements within this period, which is a 24.48 percent increase compared to the previous year. It had 22,598 aircraft movements in the month of July, 22,909 in August and 21,778 in September.

Cargo operations at Hamad International Airport also saw significant growth in the third quarter, with 3.38 percent increase amounting to a total of 590,725 tons of cargo. These numbers underscore the airport’s significance in the global logistics chain. It handled 194,268 tons of cargo in July, 195,773 tons in August and 200,683 tons in September.

Some of the busiest destinations contributing to Hamad International Airport’s success in this quarter included well-established hubs such as Heathrow, Bangkok, Colombo, Cairo and Manila. The airport also experienced substantial growth in destinations including Guangzhou and Hangzhou in China, Al Qassem in Saudi Arabia, Gatwick in the United Kingdom and Denpasar Bali in Indonesia.

الدوحة: حافظ مطار حمد الدولي على أدائه المتميز خلال الربع الثالث من العام الجاري 2023، حيث سجل زيادة بنسبة 26.84 بالمئة في حركة المسافرين مقارنة بالفترة نفسها من العام الماضي. ويأتي هذا عقب النمو المستمر الذي شهده المطار خلال هذا العام، مع زيادة بنسبة 44.5 بالمئة في الربع الأول وزيادة بنسبة 24 بالمئة في الربع الثاني.

وقد استقبل مطار حمد الدولي خلال الربع الثالث أكثر من 12.7 مليون مسافر منهم نحو 4.3 مليون مسافر في شهر يوليو، وقرابة 4.4 مليون مسافر في شهر أغسطس، وأكثر من 4 ملايين مسافر في شهر سبتمبر.

وشهد المطار خلال الفترة المذكورة حركة طيران نشطة، حيث سجل أكثر من 67 ألف حركة طائرات، وهو ما يمثل زيادة ملحوظة بنسبة 24.48 بالمئة مقارنة بالعام السابق. وقد توزعت حركة الطائرات في المطار خلال الربع الثالث وفق التالي: 22.6 ألف حركة طائرات في شهر يوليو، و22.9 ألف في أغسطس و21.7 ألف في سبتمبر.

كما شهدت عمليات الشحن في مطار حمد الدولي نموا في الربع الثالث، بزيادة قدرها 3.38 بالمئة لتصل إلى أكثر من 590 ألف طن من البضائع. وتؤكد هذه الأرقام على أهمية دور المطار في سلسلة الخدمات اللوجستية العالمية. وقد تعامل المطار مع أكثر من 194 ألف طن من البضائع في يوليو، وأكثر من 195 ألف طن في أغسطس وأكثر من 200 ألف طن في سبتمبر.

وشملت بعض الوجهات الأكثر ازدحاما التي ساهمت في نجاح مطار حمد الدولي في هذا الربع كل من هيثرو وبانكوك وكولومبو والقاهرة ومانيلا. كما شهد المطار نموا ملحوظا في وجهات أخرى شملت غوانجو وهانغتشو في الصين، والقصيم في المملكة العربية السعودية، وغاتويك في المملكة المتحدة، ودينباسار بالي في إندونيسيا.
