Al Attiyah wins Middle-East Championship

Beirut: Our hero, Nasser Bin Saleh Al-Attiyah, was crowned Middle East Rally Champion for the sixteenth time in his career, adding to his record, following the cancellation of the Lebanon International Rally. The Lebanese Automobile and Tourism Club, which organizes the race, issued a statement announcing that the race was canceled “based on the Supreme Defense Council’s decision to close the country for more than two weeks, starting from five o’clock in the morning of Saturday, November 14th until five o’clock in the morning of Monday, 30th of the same month” to try Controlling the outbreak of the new Coronavirus epidemic in the country .
The Vice President of the Middle East and North Africa at the International Automobile Federation (FIA) Imad Lahoud told AFP that Al-Attiyah was thus crowned champion of the Middle East.

بيروت: توج بطلنا ناصر بن صالح العطية، بطلاً للشرق الأوسط للراليات للمرة السادسة عشرة في مسيرته معززاً رقمه القياسي، وذلك في أعقاب إلغاء رالي لبنان الدولي. وأصدر النادي اللبناني للسيارات والسياحة المنظم للسباق بياناً أعلن فيه أن إلغاء السباق جاء «بناء على قرار المجلس الأعلى للدفاع القاضي بإقفال البلد لأكثر من أسبوعين ابتداء من الساعة الخامسة من صباح السبت 14 نوفمبر الحالي حتى الساعة الخامسة من صباح الاثنين 30» من الشهر نفسه، لمحاولة السيطرة على تفشي وباء كورونا المستجد في البلاد.
وأكد نائب رئيس منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا في الاتحاد الدولي للسيارات (فيا) عماد لحود لوكالة فرانس برس أن العطية توج بالتالي بطلاً للشرق الأوسط.
