Could Mixing Covid-19 Vaccines Boost Immune Response?

A question posed by many in the Arab and international streets and the question is that the two vaccines together can better boost immunity than one vaccine, and they assume that it accelerates the process of vaccination against coronavirus.
Indeed, the proposal, rejected by some health experts, has found global resonance if health experts suggest that two different coronavirus vaccines should be combined, such as taking the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, and then the second dose from Novavax.
According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, Oxford University has begun a study on 800 people aged 50 years and older to test the possibility of mixing vaccines.
Scientists are testing vaccine systems made of different formulations and time periods from those currently in Britain.
In announcing the vaccine mixing trial, Dr. Matthew Snape cited experiments in mice, in which the combination of Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines enhanced immunity better than two doses of the same vaccine, and this may work with humans as well.
The results of the study are expected to be officially published in June.
The study encouraged scientists to believe that mixing vaccines could boost the body’s immunity, and mismatched vaccine systems could not only generate equivalent antibodies but also boost immune cell production, according to these experts.
These T-cells also have a long and specific memory of what coronavirus looks like, which means that immunity may last longer.
Although the mixing of vaccines has awakened these T-cells in mice, the immune response itself has not yet been conclusively demonstrated in humans.
The demands for raising the pace of vaccination were met with the logistical impediment that prevented this from being achieved, as well as the emergence of new modifications to the coronavirus.
Most vaccines are designed to be given on two or more doses.

ويقوم العلماء باختبار أنظمة لقاحات مكونة من تركيبات وفترات زمنية، مختلفة عن الموجودة حاليا في بريطانيا.
وفي إعلانه عن تجربة مزج اللقاح، استشهد الطبيب ماثيو سناب، بتجارب أجريت على الفئران، حيث عززت توليفات لقاح فايزر وأسترازينيكا المناعة بشكل أفضل عن جرعتين من نفس اللقاح، وربما سيعمل ذلك مع البشر أيضا.
ومن المتوقع أن تنشر نتائج الدراسة رسميا في يونيو القادم.
وقد شجعت الدراسة العلماء على الاعتقاد في أن مزج اللقاحات قد يعزز من مناعة الجسم، ولا يمكن لأنظمة اللقاح غير المتطابقة توليد أجسام مضادة معادلة فحسب، وإنما تعزيز إنتاج الخلايا المناعية، بحسب هؤلاء الخبراء.
وتتمتع هذه الخلايا التائية أيضا بذاكرة طويلة ومحددة لما يبدو عليه فيروس كورونا، ما يعني أن المناعة قد تستمر لفترة أطول.
ورغم أن خلط اللقاحات قد أيقظ هذه الخلايا التائية في الفئران، إلا أن الاستجابة المناعية نفسها لم تظهر في البشر بشكل قاطع بعد.
يشار إلى أن مطالبات رفع وتيرة التلقيح كانت اصطدمت بالعائق اللوجستي الذي منع تحقيق ذلك، إضافة إلى ظهور تحويرات جديدة لفيروس كورونا.
وقد صممت معظم اللقاحات ليتم منحها على جرعتين أو أكثر.
