Citizens demand fixed pricing for E-commerce deliveries

Doha: A number of citizens confirmed that the decision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to set the prices of delivery services worth 10 QR for bicycle, and 20 QR for vehicle deliveries does not include Instagram merchants and sales applications on smartphones and E-commerce platforms, pointing out that these E-commerce platforms set a high delivery price rate, ranging from 50 to 200 QR.
They suggested that the owners of licensed and approved delivery companies in Qatar attract this category and work with them instead of the chaos that is currently taking place.
They pointed out that decision did not include adding a reduced value for short-distance deliveries, proposing a minimum fee starting from 2 QR to 10 QR as the highest value.

الدوحة: أكَّدَ عددٌ من المواطنين أنَّ قرارَ وزارة التجارة والصناعة بتحديد أسعار خدمات توصيل السلع بقيمة 10 ريالات للدراجة، و20 ريالاً للمركبة لا يشمل تجار الإنستَجرام وتطبيقات البيع على الهواتف الذكية ومنصات التجارة الإلكترونية، لافتين إلى أن هؤلاء يحددون قيمة مرتفعة لسعر التوصيل تتراوح من 50 إلى 200 ريال.
واقترحوا قيامَ أصحاب شركات توصيل الطلبات المرخصة والمعتمدة في قطر باستقطاب هذه الفئة والعمل تحت مظلتها بدلًا من العشوائية الحاصلة في الوقت الحالي، وأشاروا إلى أن القرار لم يشمل احتساب قيمة مخفضة لتوصيل السلع للمسافات القصيرة، مُقترحين وضع حدٍّ أدنى يبدأ من ريالَين إلى 10 ريالات كأعلى قيمة.
