Vienna: Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer said that at least one suspect in the armed attack that took place yesterday in Vienna is still at large, indicating that several deaths have occurred.
The Austrian Minister of Interior added, in a press conference for the Ministry of the Interior, that the attack had resulted in a number of deaths and injuries to others, noting that the situation in the capital, Vienna, is still difficult, and he renewed his call for people to avoid central Vienna areas. He blamed the armed attack on a member of ISIS.
For his part, the Vienna Police Chief said in statements to him that two men and a woman were killed in the attack that took place in the heart of Vienna yesterday.
Following the armed attack, the Austrian Ministry of the Interior stepped up border checks. And the Austrian authorities had announced earlier that Vienna had been subjected to an armed attack, which was carried out by a group of armed men and included six different locations, near the largest synagogue in the city.
The police confirmed that there were deaths as a result of the operation, including a bystander, a woman and a person who participated in the operation, while the mayor of the city, Mikhail Lyudvik, stated that the city’s hospitals have so far received 15 wounded people who were injured by gunfire or clashes during the attack, including seven in critical condition.
On the issue, Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, expressed his concern about the attacks that took place in several regions, in the center of the Austrian capital, Vienna, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of bystanders, including members of the security forces.
The United Nations spokesman said in a statement that the Secretary-General strongly condemned these attacks … and affirmed the solidarity of the United Nations with the people and government of Austria.

وأضاف وزير الداخلية النمساوي في مؤتمر صحفي لوزارة الداخلية، أن الهجوم قد أسفر عن عدد من القتلى، وإصابة آخرين.. مشيرا إلى أن الوضع في العاصمة فيينا لايزال صعبا، وجدد دعوته للناس إلى تجنب مناطق وسط فيينا.
وألقى وزير الداخلية النمساوي بالمسؤولية عن الهجوم المسلح على عنصر من أتباع تنظيم /داعش/.
ومن جهته، قال قائد شرطة فيينا في تصريحات له، إن رجلين وامرأة قتلوا في الهجوم الذي وقع في قلب فيينا /أمس/.
وقامت وزارة الداخلية النمساوية إثر الهجوم المسلح بتعزيز عمليات الفحص والتفتيش على الحدود.
وكانت السلطات النمساوية، قد أعلنت في وقت سابق، أن فيينا تعرضت لهجوم مسلح نفذته مجموعة مسلحين وشمل ستة مواقع مختلفة، قرب أكبر كنيس في المدينة.
وأكدت الشرطة سقوط قتلى جراء العملية، بينهم أحد المارة وامرأة وشخص شاركوا في العملية، في الوقت الذي أفاد فيه عمدة المدينة، ميخائيل ليودفيك، بأن مستشفيات المدينة استقبلت حتى الآن 15 جريحا أصيبوا جراء إطلاق نار أو اشتباكات خلال الهجوم، بينهم سبعة في حالة حرجة.
وعلى صلة بالموضوع، أعرب السيد أنطونيو غوتيريش الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة عن قلقه إزاء الهجمات التي وقعت في عدة مناطق، وسط العاصمة النمساوية فيينا، مما أدى إلى مقتل وإصابة عدد من المارة، من بينهم أفراد في قوات الأمن.
وذكر المتحدث باسم الأمم المتحدة في بيان، أن الأمين العام أدان بشدة هذه الهجمات.. وأكد تضامن الأمم المتحدة مع شعب وحكومة النمسا.
