PSG Defeat Lille to Play French Cup Quarter Finals

Paris: Paris Saint-Germain qualified for the quarter-finals of the French Football Cup by defeating Lille 3-0 in the match that was held today in the 16th round of the competition.

PSG took the lead in the ninth minute through Argentine player Mauro Icardi, and his star, Kylian Mbappe, added the second goal in the 41st minute from a penalty kick, to end the first half with the Parisian team leading by two goals without charge.

In the second half, Lille missed the opportunity to reduce the difference, after his Turkish player Yusuf Yazici missed a penalty kick in the 78th minute before Mbappe returned again and confirmed the victory of Saint-Germain by scoring the third goal and his second personal goal in extra time.

Lille leads the French league, three points ahead of their closest followers Lyon, nine rounds before the end of the competition.

وفي الشوط الثاني، أضاع ليل فرصة تقليص الفارق، بعدما أهدر لاعبه التركي يوسف يازيجي ركلة جزاء في الدقيقة 78 قبل أن يعود مبابي مرة اخرى ويؤكد فوز سان جيرمان بإحرازه الهدف الثالث وهدفه الشخصي الثاني في الدقيقة الثالثة من الوقت المحتسب بدلا من الضائع.

يذكر أن ليل يتصدر ترتيب بطولة الدوري الفرنسي حاليا، بفارق ثلاث نقاط أمام أقرب ملاحقيه سان جيرمان وليون، قبل تسع مراحل على نهاية المسابقة.
