MME allocates QR750mn for beautification projects

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Public Parks Department, has announced new beautification projects, including the allocation of about QR750mn for beautification and landscaping projects.

The ministry noted that the projects would be implemented in two packages in the coming years, reflecting positively on the cultural and aesthetic image of the city of Doha, the official Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported yesterday.

The first tender worth about QR250mn was offered to beautify seven main streets in Doha: Onaiza, Al Buhaira, Jelaiah,

Khalifa, Al Markhiya, Al Duhail and Al Qutaifiya. The works pertain to full beautification, agriculture, landscaping, sidewalks, interlocks, pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, lighting poles and others, according to QNA.

The second package will be offered at a value of nearly QR500mn to complete the rest of the projects in co-ordination with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and implemented by local contractors. Through the package, the renovation of the Rawdat Al Khail and Ras Abu Aboud parks will be carried out while new parks will be built in Al Gharafa and Umm Al Seneem.

A specialised team has been constituted comprising personnel from the Public Parks Department, according to a statement issued by the MME. This team will lead the beautification and renovation projects and work with the supervising committee for the beautification of roads and public areas in the country.

أعلنت وزارة البلدية والبيئة ممثلة بإدارة الحدائق العامة عن مشاريع جديدة للتجميل تتضمن تخصيص حوالي 750 مليون ريال لأعمال الزراعة والتشجير والتجميل، وسيتم تنفيذها على حزمتين خلال السنوات المقبلة، ما سينعكس بالإيجاب على الصورة الحضارية والجمالية لمدينة الدوحة.

وقد تم طرح المناقصة الأولى بقيمة حوالي 250 مليون ريال لتجميل 7 شوارع رئيسية في نطاق مدينة الدوحة هي: شارع عنيزة والبحيرة وجليعة وخليفة والمرخية والدحيل والقطيفية، حيث ستخضع لأعمال التجميل والزراعة والتشجير وإعادة بناء الأرصفة والإنترلوك وممرات للمشاة وللدراجات وأعمدة الإنارة وغيرها من الأعمال المدنية الأخرى.

أما الحزمة الثانية فسيتم طرحها بقيمة حوالي 500 مليون ريال، لاستكمال باقي المشاريع والتي تتم بالتنسيق مع هيئة الأشغال العامة ويتم تنفيذها بواسطة مقاولين محليين.

حدائق جديدة:

كما أنه وضمن الخطة هناك 4 مشاريع تخص الحدائق العامة، وتتضمن:

• إعادة تأهيل حديقة روضة الخيل.

• إعادة تأهيل حديقة راس أبو عبود.

• إنشاء حديقة بالغرافة.

• حديقة في أم السنيم.

وقد تم تشكيل فريق عمل متخصص من إدارة الحدائق العامة للإشراف على مشاريع الحدائق العامة والعقود الإطارية للتجميل، بالتنسيق مع لجنة الإشراف على تجميل الطرق والأماكن العامة بالدولة.
