Mexico City: Marine scientists said that they discovered new whales with strange characteristics, stressing that they differ from any other marine creatures they have seen before. According to the “Science Alert” website, which specializes in scientific news, the newly discovered whales have long teeth, and they were found on the western coast of Mexico.
The researchers collected genetic samples from the exotic whales, to be subjected to in-depth analysis in laboratories.
As the samples continue to be analyzed, the scientists assert that the recordings and images they obtained make them firmly confident that these creatures had never been observed before. “We saw something new that we didn’t expect in this area,” said marine mammalian Jay Barlow. It is something that is not identical in visual or even acoustic terms with any existing and known creature”.
The researcher was working with “Sea Shepherd”, a non-profit organization that undertakes exploration trips at sea.
He added, “What this mission has achieved may seem impossible to most people, that is, to discover a large mammal on the planet science does not know anything about.”

مكسيكو سيتي: قال علماء بحار إنهم اكتشفوا حيتانًا جديدة ذات مواصفات غريبة، مُؤكدين أنها تختلف عن أي كائنات بحرية أخرى رأوها من ذي قبل. وبحسب موقع «ساينس ألرت» المُتخصص في الأخبار العلمية، فإن الحيتان المُكتشفة حديثًا لها أسنان طويلة، وتم العثور عليها في الساحل الغربي من المكسيك.
وجمع الباحثون عينات جينية من الحيتان الغريبة، من أجل إخضاعها لتحليلات معمقة داخل المختبرات.
وبينما يتواصل تحليل العينات، أكد العلماء أن التسجيلات والصور التي حصلوا عليها تجعلهم واثقين بقوة في أن هذه الكائنات لم يسبق رصدها من ذي قبل. وقال العالم المُختص في الثدييات البحرية جاي بارلو: «لقد رأينا شيئًا جديدًا لم نكن نتوقعه في هذه المنطقة. هو شيء غير مُتطابق من الناحية البصرية أو حتى الصوتية مع أي كائن موجود ومعروف حتى الآن».
وكان الباحث يعمل مع منظمة «سي شيفرد»، وهي منظمة غير ربحية تتولى القيام برحلات استكشاف في عرض البحار.
وأضاف «أن ما حققته هذه البعثة ربما يبدو لأغلب الناس ضربًا من ضروب المُستحيل، أي العثور على حيوان ثديي كبير موجود على الأرض بينما لا يعرف عنه العلم أي شيء».
