Dr Al Khal: The Flu This Year is Different From Previous Years

Doha: Dr. Abdul Latif Al Khal, Head of the Infectious Diseases Department at Hamad Medical Corporation – said, “The seasonal influenza vaccination currently available in the State of Qatar is the same vaccine that we import every year from well-established companies including Abbott and Sanofi, and we deal with these two types of influenza vaccinations. Our experience with them has been positive for many years, and many countries of the world use these vaccines, including the European Union and the United States of America.

Dr. Al-Khal added during a series of tweets posted on the HMC website on the Twitter platform, saying, “So far we have vaccinated more than 20 thousand people since the beginning of October, most of them were health workers at HMC and Primary Health Care Corporation, and now the vaccination of community members has begun. People aged 50 years and over and children from 6 months to 5 years, in addition to people who have chronic diseases regardless of their age and pregnant women in all stages of pregnancy, as this vaccination is safe and its side effects are often in the form of mild pain at the site Needle, and it may be accompanied by a slight rise in temperature for a small percentage of people.

‏Dr. Al-Khal pointed out that it must be taken into account that the influenza virus that will spread this winter is different from last winter, and may cause severe complications in some people, especially the groups most vulnerable to health risks. It should be noted that the Ministry of Public Health launched a vaccination campaign against seasonal influenza targeting 500 thousand people this year, in light of the requirements of the general health situation in light of the emerging Corona virus, Covid-19.

الدوحة: قال الدكتور عبداللطيف الخال رئيس قسم الأمراض المعدية بمؤسسة حمد الطبية -، ‏”إن تطعيم الأنفلونزا الموسمية المتوافر حالياً في دولة قطر هو نفس التطعيم الذي نستورده في كل عام من شركات عريقة من بينها شركة Abbott وشركة Sanofi، ونحن نتعامل مع هذين النوعين من تطعيمات الأنفلونزا منذ سنوات عديدة وخبرتنا معهما إيجابية، كما يستعمل العديد من دول العالم هذين اللقاحين، بما فيها دول الاتحاد الأوروبي والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.”

‏وأضاف الدكتور الخال خلال سلسلة تغريدات نشرها موقع مؤسسة حمد الطبية على منصة تويتر قائلا ” حتى الآن قمنا بتطعيم اكثر من 20 ألف شخص منذ بداية شهر اكتوبر معظمهم من العاملين الصحيين بمؤسسة حمد الطبية ومؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الاولية، والآن تم الشروع في تطعيم أفراد المجتمع وبالذات الأشخاص في عمر 50 عاما وما فوق والأطفال من 6 شهور حتى 5 سنوات، ‏بالإضافة إلى الأشخاص الذين لديهم أمراض مزمنة بغض النظر عن أعمارهم والنساء الحوامل في جميع مراحل الحمل، حيث ان هذا التطعيم آمن واعراضه الجانبية غالبا ما تكون على شكل ألم خفيف في موضع الإبرة، وقد يكون مصحوباً بارتفاع طفيف في درجة الحرارة عند نسبة بسيطة من الناس.”

‏لافتا الدكتور الخال إلى أنه يجب الاخذ بعين الاعتبار ان فيروس الانفلونزا الذي سوف ينتشر هذا الشتاء مختلف عن الشتاء الماضي، وقد يتسبب بمضاعفات شديدة لدى بعض الأشخاص وبالذات الفئات الاكثر عرضة للمخاطر الصحية.

تجدر الإشارة إلى أنَّ وزارة الصحة العامة دشنت حملة للتطعيم ضد الأنفلونزا الموسمية مستهدفة 500 ألف شخص لهذا العام نزولا على ما يفرضه الوضع الصحي العام في ظل جائحة فيروس كورونا المستجد كوفيد -١٩.
