Buoys for Early Warning of Pollution of Marine Environment Installed at Hamad, Ruwais Ports

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the Environmental Monitoring and Laboratory Department, supervised the operations of landing four environmental monitoring buoys, two in Hamad Port, and two in Ruwais Port, in coordination with Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar).
The installation of the buoys is part of the most important activities for establishing the national network for continuous monitoring and early warning, within the project of preparing and implementing a comprehensive plan for monitoring coastal and marine water quality in the National Strategy 2022.
This plan aims to improve coastal and marine water quality to comply with national standards, marine environment sustainability, and early warning.
The continuous environmental monitoring buoys are included in the necessary permit for any development work near the marine coasts or any work that may affect the marine environment of the country by the environmental sector at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The continuous environmental monitoring buoys act as an early warning of any pollution or any disruption in the marine environment through real-time and continuous monitoring throughout the day by the initial indicators and data measured by the devices in the buoys, which would help in making decisions faster and better to respond in the event of any potential pollution.
The Environmental Monitoring and Laboratory Department seeks to cover all marine coastal areas of the country with continuous environmental monitoring and early warning buoy system, to achieve the fourth pillar (environmental development) of the Qatar National Vision.

الدوحة: أشرفت وزارة البلدية والبيئة ممثلة بإدارة الرصد والمختبر البيئي على عمليات إنزال عدد 4 عوامات للرصد البيئي المستمر بواقع عوامتين في ميناء حمد، واثنتين في ميناء الرويس، وذلك بالتنسيق مع موانئ قطر .
وتعتبر هذه العوامات أحد أهم الأنشطة الخاصة بإنشاء الشبكة الوطنية للرصد المستمر والإنذار المبكر وضمن مشروع إعداد وتنفيذ خطة شاملة لمراقبة جودة المياه الساحلية والبحرية في الإستراتيجية الوطنية 2022.
وتهدف هذه الخطة إلى تحسين جودة المياه الساحلية والبحرية لتتوافق مع المعايير القطرية واستدامة البيئة البحرية والإنذار المبكر.
وتعد عوامات الرصد البيئي المستمر ضمن التصريح اللازم لأي أعمال تنموية بالقرب من السواحل البحرية أو أي عمل قد يؤثر على البيئة البحرية للدولة من قبل القطاع البيئي بوزارة البلدية والبيئة.
وتعمل عوامات الرصد البيئي المستمر بمثابة إنذار مبكر لأي تلوث أو أي اختلال بالبيئة البحرية من خلال الرصد الآني والمستمر على مدار اليوم عن طريق المؤشرات والبيانات الأولية المقاسة من قبل الأجهزة في العوامات والتي من شأنها أن تساعد في اتخاذ القرارات بشكل أسرع وأفضل للاستجابة والتدخل في حال حدوث أي تلوث محتمل.
وتسعى إدارة الرصد والمختبر البيئي لتغطية جميع المناطق الساحلية البحرية للدولة بنظام عوامات الرصد البيئي المستمر والإنذار المبكر وتحقيق رؤية قطر من خلال الركيزة الرابعة (التنمية البيئية) .
